Domme-sub or Dom-sub, which is the most coming pairing?
I have an ongoing debate with others in the bdsm community as to which pairing is most common in the heterosexual component of the community. I believe that it is male dom and female sub. Any other perspectives out there?

Male doms and female subs are far more common, according to what I've read. On the men's side, it seems that there are plenty of guys who'd be willing to be a sub (men are in general far more sexually adventurous), but a distinct shortage of women who get off on being dommes, while female subs seldom have difficulty finding a guy to dominate them if that's what they're into. The tricky part is finding a guy who knows what he's doing and respects his sub so that it doesn't become abuse.

The way of the world is that men are dominant and women are submissive. In a sense I dont even see bdsm as a fetish, rather it is acting out the deepest sexual emotional yearnings everyone has if they have the balls to admit it. Look at our privates, the penis is hard and obviously made for the 'doing', the vagina is soft and waits to be done to. Not to mention how females are so strongly emotionally programmed to seek out the alpha dominant male.
The male sub thing is the role reversal.

xim, I think you're painting with a very broad brush there and greatly oversimplifying things.

Gilda, you have crystallized a serious issue, when people view bdsm as permission to vent their abusive tendencies. The reality is far different, as you no doubt know. As for you xim, there is over simplification and then there is what you said! The way of the world?? How about the more conventional?
