Burning Sensations from a lube?
Okay I had to join this site because I had a question about a lube me and my fionce recently bought. Usually we buy the K-Y lubricant for anal sex and sometimes if we are lazy or out of our other kinds we use it for vaginal sex too. Now, recently we ran out of the K-Y and were reccommended a different brand called "Wicked Slick silicone based lube". We tired it and I will agree that it did stay slick and wet the whole time but my issue with it is that is started to warm up and then sometimes feels like it is burning.
Now we like rough sex as it is and I have never had this issue with any other lube-even the warming sensation ones. Even recently we had anal and vaginal sex and it got to the point where I couldn't stand it any longer because the burning went from uncomfortable to unbearable. Has anyone else had this issue and if so what is it?? Is it possibly something in the lube because it even smells weird (the lube). I just need to know if I should stop using this product and should I contact the manufacturers and tell them? |

does it burn for both of you or just you? if its just you, you maybe allergic to it. bottom line, if it burns, its not good, stop using it.

Something could be wrong with you or the lube - but you should definitely stop using it immediately as Dilbert suggested. I suggest going back to KY to see if there's a reoccurrence in the burning sensation. If there is, go see the doctor ASAP. If not, it was probably something in the off-brand lube you were using.

I've known some burning from using too much of it too often before. Your skin can only take so much irritation and it's possible that you're just sensitive to it. But, if you can see a doctor (a.k.a. you are insured and it's affordable), it couldn't hurt to go ask.
(P.S. My eyes are experiencing some burning sensations from all the pink text. Easy, tiger.)

If it's just the one that does it, and only you feel it, then you likely just have a sensitivity to that one brand. Maybe it's the silicone base... but since you normally use another kind, and it works for you, I wouldn't sweat it, and just go back to what you used before.
The only difference would be, did the irritation bring about any itching, either during or after sex? Does the burning/irritation linger for a long time after you're done with sex (much longer than any "normal" friction sensation might have lasted before from rough sex)? Like Supple said, it never hurts to go double-check... but really, you likely just stumbled across something you have a sensitivity to, and simply need to discontinue using it. Definitely go see a doctor if the burning persists after you discontinue use of the product. |

I have TOTALLY found lube that didn't work and burned- so much so that after a minute or two I had to tell my hubby to hang on while I went and washed it off! Talk about a mood killer!
Just go back to what you know and love... and perhaps try a lube pack sample from the internet sometime- those are fun! And btw, love the pink font! We're all too lazy around here to change the font color when we post!
