Ok, you need to go to Planned Parenthood. Usually they're all over the US. Look it up online. Go to : http://www.plannedparenthood.org/ppmnj/
You have three days usually but as long as her period starts over no worries. Good luck! I've been there before myself and it is scary if you're the girl. They don't ask for ID or anything. It is like $45 I think or in that range...but hey an abortion or baby is alot more. Hope this helps! |
call a pharmacy near you, it's over-the-counter now (but still kept back in the pharmacy) so you don't need a prescription. Any normal pharmacy near you should carry it. Just as long as you're 18 it's not a problem to get it. It's called "Plan B". Just call up and ask, it's very simple. Get it as soon as possible- the earlier she takes it, the more effective it is.

I had this problem myself. Yes it is over the counter, but most places haven't gotten there yet. I think the law isn't official until Jan '07. So go to planned parenthood. They will totally take care of you. Analog is right, earlier is better.
We got lucky and had a friend write a prescription. $40 but totally worth it! |

think of it as paying after the date.

If you go to university you can probably get it at the health center.

Wow Cyn, I hope thats not them.
Always have a plan B like spermicidal lube or a diaphram or the pill or the sponge! |

Heres an intresting question, now that it is over counter...can both sexes buy it?
(I will answer my own question...the answer might help someone) Yes anyone over the age of 18 can buy Plan B. You can also buy it ahead of time, $40 dollars or 18 years to a lifetime of child support, take your choice. For those who want to avoid a particularly awkward situation you can even get it online @ drugstore.com...DO NOT ORDER ONLINE IF YOU NEED IT ASAP... http://www.drugstore.com/products/pr...BUY-PLST-0-CAT |
thats not true. I bought it at CVS for 45. I tried to buy it myself at the one by my house, they wouldnt let me buy it unless I had HER ID im like wtf? Bah. I had to race all the way down an hour and a half drive to get to her i n time because the 72 hours would have been up if I didnt get there at 6 to buy it. Fortunatly I got there at 5:46 and all was well

Hey guys, I'm new here but I thought I'd tell you my little sisters story.
Basically, she had sex with her boyfriend for the first time, and the condom fell off. After some pursuading done by me (she never told our parents) she went to get the morning after pill (called Postinor-2). It cost her $30 (australian) and she had to go becuase they asked her questions such as when her last period was, and when the sex was and stuff like that. The only problem was that she ended up having to get up at 4AM to take the second pill, because if you don't take it about 12 hours after taking the first pill, it doesn't work. This was about three weeks ago. |

They wouldn't let you buy it because they're stupid. Anyone- male or female- 18 years of age or older can purchase it as long as they have a valid form of identification. 72 hours is not a magical fix-all deadline to meet, it's the maximum amount of time you have to get it done... which means you didn't "make it in time" just because it was 70.5 hours. By "more effective the sooner you take it", they mean "better chance that it works and prevents a pregnancy". 72 hours is 3 days' time... I hope whatever took you 3 whole days to get it was more important than a pregnant girl... though for the life of me, I can't imagine what could possibly fit the bill. The reason I sound upset is because you asked for information to solve a problem, and then it took you 3 whole days to go buy something that's readily available to help prevent a pregnancy. It's because you could potentially still be facing a pregnancy, and you're acting like you're in the clear because you bought your girlfriend a magical potion to end all your worries- and you didn't. You bought a medicine that works best when taken as immediately as possible, and you took almost the entire length of the possible time to get it. It doesn't matter what the circumstances were, you've now put yourself in danger because you didn't get it in a timely manner- I just hope all goes well and nothing happens. Good luck. |
In relation to my previous post, my sister was 17 and had no problem. Is the age limit just in America? and why is it 18?

This is why I keep Plan B on hand. Here in Oregon, we get free family planning services, so Plan B is free at Planned Parenthood and other clinics. So I stock up on it every time I go--not for myself (I've got the barrier/hormonal method thing covered), but in case a friend or acquaintance should ever find themselves in need.
