I have been having a hard time finding some type of pornography that I can watch with my girlfriend.

I'm pretty easy to please for the most part. She has trouble with cheesy dialog, ridiculously ugly males vs. attractive females, and just the general stupidness of bad porn. She'll start laughing and therefore I can no longer get into it either.

She needs something believable most importantly. I think she would really enjoy something very amateurish and homemade. She likes real people and she'd like to actually believe that the two people care for one another. Does this type of porn exist?

Anyone have any suggestions on good things for couples to watch?

Seconded on Comstock Films--I've never actually seen one, but I've met Tony Comstock by way of some clients I've recently acquired in the adult industry. He's a super good guy, and I like the way he thinks with regard to sexual and gender politics.

Also films made by Private, a Spanish company, are generally quite high quality in terms of production values and performer attractiveness. Lots of exotic locations, natural boobs and shot-on-film goodness. Only thing is, the ones in English are either dubbed, or the actors have a remarkable array of European accents. The acting is varied and the plots are silly, but... that's what the fast-forward button is for.

I'm not sure if this would work, but it kind of looks amateur-ish. But, it is shot from the male point of view. The woman isn't a perfect model, but has DDs. If she has problems with large breasts, this wouldn't be the right movie.

What my bf and I did was get a movie rental membership at a porn shop, and he let me pick out what I wanted to see, and he'd help me narrow down the choices. What she prefers and what you prefer may also be different... and when you're renting, you don't have to worry about spending a bunch of money on something you're not sure if you'll like. Pick out a few different movies at a time, each one a different style/film maker, and figure out what you guys like... it's very subjective, at least in my experience. =)

I dunno about you guys, but when Sage and I are in the mood to watch porn, we generally aren't looking for stuff with plot, just stuff with sex. That being said, we wouldn't pop in an all-sex porn before we've even taken our clothes off. I guess for us, porn is more useful in the background, so that you can hear it and occasionally see bits of it, but not so much for sitting on the couch and watching.

Personally part of the appeal of having porn on while we have sex is that its like being around other people having sex without actually having to be around other people having sex... just the room filling up with sex noises from us and the porn and being able to see us having sex along with other people having sex makes it feel like being in the middle of a big juicy romp with lots of people in the middle of a Roman bath house or something. But then I guess that sort of thing turns me on.

In short... how many porns have you seen that have a plot you wouldn't just laugh at or dismiss as dumb? If having a dumb plot is the problem then I'd say you need to get some porn that doesn't bother with plot at all.

Also bear in mind that women say they like and what actually makes them hot under the collar can be wildly different. I've read a few items on this and watched a documentary last year. The women were all hooked up to pulse, blood pressure and "other" monitors and shown the kind of porn women _report_ that they prefer (VERY broad generalisation) and a little later they were shown the porn that men say they prefer.

Obviously, differences in the relative 'hardness' of the porn and plotlines etc, etc are easy to draw. Ladies, please dont shout at me.

Anyway, as the premise marks out, all the women reported to prefer the more romantic and softer porn, though they were not particularly aroused by it - some women were actually completely unmoved by it though they claimed to have really enjoyed it. The real, marked physical reaction was noted on a pretty low grade, seedy representation of an older man taking a young girl in a barn or some such. Very graphic, very explicit, all possible penetration penetrated.

I remember reading about a women's studies class that did a unit on women being exploited by porn. Part of the unit involved showing the women some of the most explicit porn around. It was interesting because two of the women later said that watching the vile porn actually turned them on. They didn't admit it at the time and they gave the requisit looks of disgust on que, however, some admitted that the more humiliating the porn, the more they were turned on.

So I checked out Comstock Film's "Marie and Jack: A Hardcore Love Story" and I was fairly impressed. My gf and I both enjoyed it and it definitely aroused us both.

We also enjoyed the commentary, but wish that it had not interrupted the action. It took us out of the moment and made it feel more like a documentary in a lot of ways.

I highly recommend watching it though, regardless of the one flaw I spoke of.

Why is it tho that the word "porn" itself seems bad? I mean if you really break it down there are so many differnt kinds, I find it difficult(not impossible) that there isn't a movie type that appeals to any particular person. Breaking free of the myriad taboos and commonly-accepted mores is challenging, but in our opinion worth the effort. My wife and I have the same issue. the only porn that we have seen that stuck with us was one of an array of clips that showed a woman arriving at the door of this man's house and it was a photo shoot ad, and she didnt know that it was for skimpies. From the acting, or lack therof, we believed that it was a genuine ad and response, which made it more realistic, and her reactions during the sex made it all that more believeable .. none of that "unnn .. mmmm .. ahhh .. <lick lips and look at camera>... moan.. oh baby baby yeah ..
