Who do you think won the Presidential election in Chile?
Candidate 1: Michelle Bachelet, agnostic, Socialist, divorced mother of 3, a woman.
Candidate 2: Sebastián Piñera, billionaire, conservative, owner of Chilevisión(a Chilean television channel), Catholic, and part of the center-right National Renewal (RN) party, a man. A little background on Chile: Divorce wasn't legal there until 2 years ago, 89% of the country is Catholic, they have a very open economy in South America (Low taxes). Only 4% of senators are women. And the winner, with 53.3% of the votes : http://66.218.71.231/language/trans...fr=FP-tab-web-t I guess democracy still works. Yes, she does have other qualifications to make her a good leader. And none of those things stated above about her are bad, but still in that country they wouldn't help you much. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michelle_Bachelet http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4087510.stm |

They elected the same coalition that was in power prior to the election. The coalition just has a new leader.
I wasn't that surprised to see her get elected.
