US Constitutional Amendments
I just read through the amendments to the US constitution.
Can you tell I'm procrastinating? This all started because I said "I take the 4th" by mistake... =p~ So I got curious what the 4th amendment to the US constitution was. Anyhow, I managed to make a one-line description of each amendment: 1> Freedom of religion, assembly and petition 2> Keep and Bear Arms 3> Military quarters 4> Search and Seisure 5> Bear witness, double jeopardy, due process, just compensation, grand jury 6> Speedy and Fair Trial 7> Trial by Jury 8> Cruel and Unusual and non-excessive 9> Unenumerated rights 10> Reservation of powers --- 11> International Juristition 12> Pres/VP election 13> Emancipation 14i> Due Process/Equal Protection 14ii> Representation 14iii> Rebellion and Public Office 14iv> Public Debt 14v> Enfocement of above 15> Right to Vote by race/slavery 16> Income Tax 17> Senate Positions 18> Prohibition 19> Right to Vote by sex 20i> Transfer of Powers 20ii> Congress must assemble annually 20iii&iv> Continuation of Presidency 21> miniProhibition 22> Term limits 23> DC representation 24> Right to Vote by Tax status 25> Acting President 26> Right to Vote by Age 27> Politician compensation Actual text is availiable widely, or can be googled with multiple sources. Btw, findlaw has a very neat set of commentaries. And, come to think of it, possibly a better one-line description of each amendment. ;-) Did I miss any important points, or misunderstand an amendment? Do you have a better short description for any of the amendments? Anyhow, I hope this is useful to someone!
