That was beautiful. What a frustrated guy Zappa was. Is it rare to see people like Lofton on TV in the states nowadays?

Zappa: "When you have a government that prefers a certain moral code derived from a certain religion and that moral code turns into legislation to suit one certain religious point of view" that's theocratic fascism. Not at all, his name is Bill O'Reiley. That Lofton guy was so condescending towards Zappa. He treated him like a damn idiot! I love how Zappa knew more about the news, the music, AND all the issues than everyone else on that show.

It was nice to at least see some objectivity and rationality from the hosts, that and only one commercial break ;)

I have been a long time fan of Zappa, but I had not seen this show. What impressed me was Zappa's reatraint in not kicking Loftons ass. Freedom of speech has lost a champion.

I'm sure the reports the next day all focused on Zappa telling Lofton to kiss his ass without mentioning how much he was baited and insulted.
