Ok, just because something is living it doesn't mean it has rights. But to those who oppose abortion, a fetus isn't cancerous tissue. It's an independent human being, so it has its own rights. No, it can't live without the mother, but a baby couldn't live without someone to care for it, either.

Hey! Are you trying to make masturbation a crime?

au·ton·o·mous (adj.) 1. Not controlled by others or by outside forces; independent.

Never in the history of the world has there been an autonomous newborn human.

Actually, the purpose was to make the child sleep better at night, as opposed to being dead.

But I doubt that anyone posting in this thread expected anyone else's mind to change.

That's not a slam at you; it's just an observation that this argument isn't going to be settled anytime soon.

Does that mean, that a child in the womb is not now on earth?

I do not think your reasoning pertains to the unborn but people in general. If abortion is murder but we have too many people, then why not just kill those people? Genocide has many advantages to those who are not against the wall.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems your philosophy is 'Might makes right.'

Ustwo is right. Just because something is expedient, maybe even for the "benefit of the whole," doesn't make it justified. There has to be a balance between expedience and justice, and where that balance lies is a source of ideological conflict.
