One of the great disasters in History
www.kiddofspeed.com
May sound to you as a web-site of some teenage pc game lover, but to your surprise it opens up a totally different story. April 26, 1986 - Chernobyl. Total number of casualties - unknown and will never be known, a reactor that released the amount of radiation equaling the amount of a dirty bomb, the population of the town that was evacuated a day after the disaster. At this site you will find an interesting pictorial documentary from that town 18 years after the disaster. These pictures are speechless. Just wanted to share this, because this is something one won't see every day... |
There are two "D's" in kidd for some reason, your link didn't work. But you are right, this is an awesome webpage.

Yes, I've seen it before.
Great/somber page. But the amount of radiation released by Chernobyl was far FAR greater than any dirty bomb could release (unless of course the dirty bomb has a couple of thousand pounds of uranium in it...) |
well, it all amounts to what you concider to be a dirty bomb, in this case most of the core actually remained on site, about 50 to 70 tons went missing. part of this went into the air, part of it wne under the reacter in form of lava, what is happening underneather the reactor no one has a clue, since there in no way of entering there, one will melt in seconds.

I love her humor
lines like Taking such a walk with no special radiation detecting device is like walking through a minefiled wearing snowshoes. |
