Group Mentality
This seems to be a big problem in the U.S. Republicans do it. Democrats do it. Christians do it. Atheists do it. I understand the power of grouping together for a certain cause or whatever, but I think it is a really bad idea to group together on a whole bunch of ideas. All it really does is cause nothing but problems. One side calls the other side foolish, hate mongers, and homophobes. The other side calls the original side unpatriotic, unmoral, and French (why this is an insult, I don't know). What happens? Nothing gets done. What happened to thinking for yourself? Instead of repeating what other people say, how about actually doing research yourself? If you are too lazy to do the research yourself, then stop worrying about it, because uneducated opinion is what is causing this whole problem in the first place. There is nothing wrong with not knowing about an issue, or not having an opinion. Maybe that is the problem, people are too scared to say that they don't know what to think about an issue? I don't really even know where I am going with this, but I am really starting to doubt this whole democracy thing. Maybe the general public is too uneducated to really make good decisions.
Sorry for the rant, I just can't stop thinking about all this crap. I am not saying any of this to offend, just to get people to think. |

In a world of pragmatic alternatives, it's most prudent to promote the one best available.
................ Democracy is the worst form of government except for all those others that have been tried. -Winston Churchill
