Nice site to monitor election state by state

This is pretty cool.

It will be updated on an ongoing basis. You can even check the results going all the way back to 1948.

The Past Elections tab is especially interesting. For example, did you know an independent got just under 10,000,000 votes and the electoral college votes of four states in 1968? An independent?!

It's fun to hit the "Play" button and see how states have swung from Rep to Dem (or vice versa) over the past few years.

I know some of you don't like BBC, but it generally does good stuff.

If you read the words (and take your eyes off the pretty little pictures) you will see that these are projections.

Sheesh...

I figured it has been pieced together from sugar packets and the backs of highly informative cereal boxes. They probably update it before they can get all the information in, that's my geuss anyway.

The BBC site seems to either be slow in updating their information, or they're getting their information from a different source than C-SPAN:

They're getting their information from Associated Press.

"The AP are the sole organisation responsible for providing the results for the major American media networks. The information they provide will form the basis for election results but different broadcasters may decide to interpret partial results in different ways."

That independent was Mr. George Wallace, and he ran on a pro-segregation, anti-civil rights platform. In other words, he got the racist vote.

No worries. I'm just confused.

Maybe because it is AP's website, it's getting the numbers quicker.

The only surprise state so far is New Jersey which went to Kerry.
