How will you get your elections news tomorrow?

From what source do you expect to get your primary election coverage from? I have a wireless router hooked to the ol' cable modem... so i'll probably use the laptop to surf TFP and watch for headlines on Drudge while taking in the cable news.

Flyguy 11-01-2004 01:57 PM

Listining to AM news while flying the aircraft at work and CNN in the hotel when I get there at midnight.

Averett 11-01-2004 01:58 PM

I'll be tuned into one of the networks. Most likely either CSPAN, ABC or NBC. I'm sure I'll check out what TFP has to say during the results ;)

irateplatypus 11-01-2004 02:00 PM

dang... 2 responses before i could generate the poll. you folks are on the ball.

daswig 11-01-2004 02:01 PM

I plan on doing lots of legal drugs tomorrow. If I don't wake up, I'll know Kerry won and the world ended.

inharmony 11-01-2004 03:42 PM

Most likely NBC or the internet.

mattevil 11-01-2004 03:47 PM

probably fark.com

Averett 11-01-2004 04:15 PM

I voted for NBC in the poll... Anyone know if Comedy Central will have some sort of webcast? Damn, not having cable sucks :(

Lebell 11-01-2004 04:20 PM

I have no intention of going out of my way to find out tomorrow.

I figure I'll hear about it soon enough.

Ditto, I could listen to each state return and have networks call them with 1% reporting or I could just relax and see what happens after its over.

ARTelevision 11-01-2004 04:39 PM

Yeah. Not going to follow it too closely. I figure at some point it will shake out and some sort of consensus will be arrived at...

filtherton 11-01-2004 04:40 PM

I'm going to read the paper the next day to see who is suing who.

LOL - that statement says a lot about the public level of confidence in the electoral process.

radioguy 11-01-2004 04:58 PM

i'll check out cnn.com at work and then turn the news channel on once i get home.

That's the funniest thing I've read on this board for some time. And rather pragmatic and refreshing too!

BTW, where's the BBC on that list?! I had to vote OTHER...

i'm gonna go proudly vote, then go shopping, then hang out in the coffee shop at a group thing with a chica and i'll know by the end of the night...which lends the question that i'm thinking about posting to the forum...

Will we know the new president by Wednesday as we have known before the 2000 fiasco...I don't think so bc of all hte lawsuits already going on in florida....and i know ohio is gonna have a lot of problems

Go_AVS 11-01-2004 09:06 PM

I figure we will all find out by the end of the year so no reason to get too caught up following it all along the way.

All I know is my vote is in so I did my part, now it will probably be up to the lawyers ...

MuadDib 11-01-2004 09:22 PM

I'm getting anxious already, tomorrow is going to be crazily stressful! Though I have to admit that I can't wait to watch the politics board tomorrow as the results keep pouring in.

Ustwo 11-01-2004 10:11 PM

What I really think I need to do is go game shopping and leave the TV off. I have Rome Total war and its a good game, but its getting old. I haven't been following the industry lately, whats good thats come out in the last month?

Follow the money. Follow the money.

irateplatypus 11-02-2004 10:57 PM

i've been flipping around quite a bit. my favorite coverage has been consistently coming from CNN and Fox News. Their analysts and commentators just seem to be a cut above the rest. Dan Rather has provided a bit of comic relief.

for the internet side of things... CNN.com has been getting most of my traffic.

Ustwo 11-02-2004 11:35 PM

Ok I shouldn't have but I did watch.

CBS was awsome for comic relief. It was amazingly bad and biased.

I got most of my info when it mattered off the net though.

irateplatypus 11-02-2004 11:47 PM

i've decided that i actually feel sorry for dan rather. it really saddens me (strangely) to see someone i've watched ever since i can remember off his game so much.

brit hume is solidifying my endorsement for our finest newsman. there are some excellent anchors on the BBC... and there are some others domestically that stick out of the crowd. still, the man is rock solid. in some ways i wish he weren't on the fox news channel so that he'd get a fair shake from those who discount fox right away.

I'll be honnest by the end of the night when he was saying some really amazingly wacky things, I felt sorry for him. I'd have given him a beer and given him a one arm hug or something. He looked really bedraggeled.

MikeyChalupa 11-03-2004 04:27 AM

I'm out to sea right now, and the only channel that comes in crystal clear is FOX. Brit Hume did a good job, with the exception of the occasional funny slip up like "President Kerr... er, SENATOR Kerry..."

CNN.com has a bunch of nicely organized tables with numbers, and even a little check mark to tell you who won. Being undermotivted, I just went there because I figure that it doesn't matter where I get numbers from, it's kind of hard to bias them in any direction.

I was disappointed by everything I saw. All the states with ballot measures got everything ass-backwards with the exception of California and Colorado, and every candidate I voted for lost.
