Ears Full of Bullshit, Ass Full of Smoke: Is There Spin-Free Political News?

This is my first presidential election I'm voting in, and I'd like to (as opposed to the majority of voters) actually be well-informed. TV leans to the left. Radio leans to the right. The internet goes all over the damn place. My question to you: Does spin-free information on our Presidential canidates, or even ballot issues (I'm in CA in case you were wondering), actually exist, and if so, where? Text, web, broadcasts of any kind, any outlet you can think of, I'd like to hear it.

Good luck finding it. When you do, PM me and let me know where it is. And yes my signature says Kerry/Edwards. I'm not biased, Kerry's ideas sound better to me than Bush's.

see...I try to get news from a numbe rof sources/boards....from comedy central (the daily show...may be fake, but some of the stuff is just real) to Oreilly to fox news to cnn to TFP to the drudge report to msnbc to...ok, no radio in there, but enough of fox to kill any conservative....

all in all, just get a number of sources that dont' happen to say the same thing and try to decide.

Seriously? The Daily Show.

I know it's satire, but damn if they aren't closer to the truth than crap like Fox or ABC half the time. Take it with a grain of salt, and you'll be ok.

I mostly try for variety over accuracy. I read two newspapers and a few websites every day, and I try to cross-reference and compare each of their presentations on things. Do a few searches on the web for anything that sticks in your mind as questionable, because it probably is. If you doubt it, research until you are beyond doubt of what you believe the truth is.

I think this is my 5th Presidential election. What you need to do is list the issues that are important to you. Then you need to see which candidate is the closest to your beliefs. I think it is important to listen to the spin but listen to both sides. For one, it makes it fun. For the most part politics are boring but watching the spin doctors duke it out is good TV. You're not going to find a true fair and balanced source so don't waste your time. Just take it all in and digest it and then make a decision.

I think the first time I voted I just voted for who my parents liked. Looking back I think that was a mistake. It turned out it didn't end up mattering but I think it is important, especially now to cast a good vote. But don't worry too much about it unless you're in one of the swing states because if you're not, then you vote doesn't really count.
