Are you kidding? The United States has more stock piles of weapons of mass destruction than Iraq ever did. This shit is sitting uncovered in 1,818 ton containers in my back yard, while inspectors can't find one drop in Iraq. Do you have any idea how hypocritical that looks?

I'm glad we have such a large pile of weapons. I like to think of it as a little insurance against a hostile world...

It seems to me a given , at this point that the weapons do not exist. As the ties to OBL and his orginaization have also been disproven, it is likely the administration will need to create a new reason for the justification of invasion, and occupation. That said, there could very well be a huge stockpile of WMDs' buried in Iraq.....but to assume they are there in an attempt to back up an obviously poor judgement call by our leadership is simply a weak position.
Hopefully, we will hear the truth from our government at some point in the future, but this is sadly, not likely. Perhaps when the guard is changed, the blatant propoganda, and outright deception will come to light.

One can certainly hope....but my expectations are low at this point.

So if some police pull you over and search your car because you look suspicious, and they don't find anything, is it ok for them to throw you in jail for possesion of drugs because they just assume that they were there but got moved? Now what if a judge convicted you of said charges because the police say "they must have been moved" but have no real proof other than assumption, is that cool with you?

From a UK perspective this whole thing is a mess. Tony Blair is getting some serious critisism and rightly so. He has taken this country to war on a false premise and/or a willingness to follow a man who the majority of this country just don't trust.

I look at the situation and all I see are countries acting unilaterally with little or no evidence.

Saddam had the burden of proof. He failed to prove that he didn't have WMD, yet the UN did squat about it. Somebody had to step up to the plate. Thankfully we still have a few good leaders who aren't scared to do what needs to be done.

Burden of proof? You mean show the entire world including his neighbor and largest enemy that he was completely unarmed and defenseless? Iran would've invaded in two seconds had he done that. How can you really believe that sacrificing over one thousand of your own is "what needs to be done?" What gives the United States of America the authority to be the world police? Our superior information sources? The lack of WoMD in Iraq is resounding evidence that we shouldn't be getting into shit that we don't know shit about in the first place.

Hey, I wasn't the one who placed the burden of proof on Saddam. The mighty U.N. did that, then failed to back up their threats. What a waste of time and money.

It seems like the United States started playing more of a role in world affairs when the world went to shit in both world wars before we stepped up. An ounce of prevention and all that...

report make it clear that Bush had no justification to take the U.S. to war
against Iraq. By defending Bush and this pathetic outcome of no signifigatn
WMD discovery, 1069 dead U.S. troops, the devastation of Iraq and of
innocent Iraqis, the destabalization of Iraq and the middle east that insures
a huge expense in material and U.S. manpower for the forseeable future,
and the unintended but predictable strenghtening of Iran via the destruction
of the Iraqi military, you enbale and encourage Bush to pursue further
illegal international acts of aggression and his penchant for acting unaccountable and secretive to the American people and the other branches
