MAD AS HELL OVER SMEAR AND WANTS THE ISSUES DISCUSSED, NO MORE SMEAR
Thought I'd start a thread to let candidates know where we stand.
What I propose is to get 100 of you with nothing more than you saying "YES, I want isues discussed not smear." To which I will print and send to both parties and both candidates. Then I will scan and post the response letter (if I recieve any). Perhaps, I am totally off the deep end in believing I can get 100 people that care enough or believe enough in this cause. If that is the case, our country is in far more danger than what terrorists could ever do to us. This is to be NON PARTISAN, so if you have to be partisan don't post. None of this, "my candidate will react this way, and the other won't even acknowledge the letter." Both may, both may not. But at least we'll have a 100 diverse people in beliefs agreeing on 1 subject. We here at Tilted are from every state, every income bracket, every age. We have representatives from every diversity there is, white, black, asian, Native American, Jewish, Catholic, Born Again, Buddhist, and so on. We are a great cross section of the people and it is time our voices were heard again. So who here is "MAD AS HELL OVER SMEAR AND WANTS THE ISSUES DISCUSSED, NO MORE SMEAR." |
What else is there for them to do to hide how ideologically close to each other they are? The fact of the matter is that Kerry and Bush are both right wing conservatives - who only disagree about the implementation of the same basic policies... both are committed to capitalism, free enterprise, equal of opportunity rather than equality, and a meritrocious society. They both stand against everything that the radical working class believes in.
There are no ideological arguments to be had between them, so all there can be is accusations of personal corruption or inceompetence. |

StrangeFamous, Any candidate with any hope of winning any election in the U.S. has got to be free enterprise. Being anything else as a political candidate in this country will guarantee a swift and humiliating defeat. With only a two party system, our candidate are forced to play the middle, which does not allow for any extremism in candidates. Just read about the Illinois senatorial race between Alan Keyes and Barrack Obama. Keyes is an extremist and will be soundly defeated in November because of his views. There are plenty of people who agree with him, but the middle of the road voters are too squeamish to ever actually give him a voice in Congress. Pan, If only everyone would write their candidates and elected officials and demand what you suggest. If we did, we might see a change. They do it now because we are silent about it, which amounts to approval in our society. |

Sorry but no go here pan (if you even have me off ignore heh)
The Democrats have been 'smearing' Bush for the last year and a half. They have made horrible and baseless allegations and hints about him knowing about 9/11 and not one of the left said a word about it being a smear. They have called him names worthy of a school yard, they have called him a liar on the senate floor. The chairman of the DNC has been as bad as any TFPer in his 'smears'. Well it didn't work and now that your candidate is going down suddenly 'smears' matter to you? You are transparent, even if you are not being honest with yourself. You are afraid GWB is going to be reelected and are desperate as Kerry. If there was consistency I'd be all for it, but there isn't, its a lie, its a farce, and I'd take no part in it. Edit: Speling is hard |
Ustwo, Would you say that Cheney saying America would be hit again if Kerry was elected was fair minded and sensible statement???

Its the idea between a reactive and proactive anti-terror strategy, and in that context I agree with him. |
Don't bother arguing with him Strangefamous he wears special conserivitive glasses and earplugs which allow him to hear no evil and see no evil when it comes to republicans and only hear and see evil when it comes to democrats.

Thanks for keeping this thread non partisan and peaceful.... even something as simple as just saying no more smear/mud leads to fights unbelieveable... no wonder this country is going down fast and is so hated in the world.
Yes, USTwo I do have you on ignore, but this was my thread and I had to read it because I was serious about printing and sending if I got 100 sigs. I asked no partisan politics no fighting and you turned it into a personal attack on me. You can't even do that. You are truly nothing but a bully, consider your attack on me reported. PS, No, I'm not afraid of Bush being reelected. I'm scared if the smear and finger pointing doesn't end we'll elect unqualified, truly evil men because they have less mud sticking to them. I'm scared that partisan politics and people like you who have to fight just because you love your own voice are destroying the country instead of truly trying to find ways to better it. I'm scared noone will ever let a president do his job or Congress because the politicians are going to be scared to do anything. But most of all I'm scared of what we are becoming, a nation feeding upon itself. |

Unfortunately, this thread has shown me people would rather personally attack others no matter the motive. People would rather destroy posts that are supposed to bring people together. Perhaps the smear is what is expected and people just don't give a damn anymore about the issues. The people on here who personally attack would much rather destroy than debate issues with facts.... they ignore those challenges. I guess it inspires more attention to be negative and constantly attack others than to for once just move on and let a thread go in peace. |

For me, it is easier to be non-partisan to a degree, because I could not support either candidate - although I think Bush is doing more harm than Kerry, as I said above, they are both capitalists and both must be considered as directly opposing both the motion of humanity and the interests of the working class. |
No, Ustwo was a deliberate personal attack.
I don't understand, if someone posts NONPARTISAN, and you cannot be or you have to be negative why post in that thread at all? Is it necessary to post in every thread? Not trying to attack you Strange, (cause I respect your passion and views, slightly misguided as they are (Just teasing)) but I don't understand the need to be negative and try to start shit in every thread or against a certain poster. If you (Posters here in general, not just you Strange) don't believe in the thread don't post and if enough people feel like you the thread would die and that would be that. But to post just to start shit.... what's the purpose? |
