I just want to give a general shout out to President Bush. A big thank you for requiring anyone who comes to your rallys to either be a Republican or sign an oath of loyalty.

It helps to keep the independent voters who will actually decide this election away while you pander to your base. It frees everyone up to go see Mr's Kerry and Edwards. And actually keeps any of the undecided voters from being able to be swayed by you. Please, stay the course until Elec tion Day.

You are making things so much easier for us! Thanks. You will be getting a christmas card.

sorry to disagree but i don't think that any of the independants that bush is trying to sway are going to be at any rallies. many are people that really don't give a shit but relize they can get out of working by voting. also this story isn't exactly front page news its more of an editorial and honestly i have never read any of those in my local paper and i am sure a lot of other people aren't far from that.

Although I never believe anything that comes "out of the mouth" of a liberal based news media organization, I would have to say that this could be true. But I tend to think more that this is just Bush-bashing by way of skewing the truth to fit their agenda and liberal propaganda.

I was watching this hour has 22 minutes.(a canadian comedy show). Anyways, it showed this reporter going up to Bush, and telling him that the Canadian Primeminister Jean Putin supports him. And Bush didn't think twice about that. He literally has the intelligence of a two year old.

Perhaps a resounding "shove-it" would have garnered more respect. It's like babysitting an infant....just waiting for you guys to cry yourselves to sleep.

Hmmm, shove it... maybe. No, no. Go for the gold! A "Go fuck yourself" would have gotten my vote!

Alas, it is sad, but what Superbelt says is true. I don't like it, not one bit. (especially if they couldn't spell.) It's not the first time Bush's campaign has irritated me.

The party doesn't want his rallies being sabotaged or disrupted by angry protestors. It's not that Republicans are just evil tyrants.
I know it's just sterotypes, but (and stereotypes become what they are because there's a large measure of truth in them)....really, can you truthfully imagine a bunch of fired up soccer mom or businessmen Republicans planning and executing an attempt to disrupt a Kerry rally?
Now think about young angry college students hatching a plot to try and humiliate the president.
Which seems more likely?

while i wouldn't expect the groups you mention toreally cause problems at a kerry rally, think of all the religous right, red neck, and other conservative staples that would probably do so... (and considering the whole bringing flip-flops thing at the kerry rallies, they do do it)... and don't forget about defensive, conservative college kids.

Seriously, if I want to protest at a Bush rally, do you think signing a little form saying I support him is going to stop me? It's not like the form has any legal standing. It is just a silly thing. Sometimes I think Bush's handlers don't want him to think anyone disagrees with him. (i.e. everyone at your rallies loves you Mr. President, but don't read the papers or watch the news, oh that's right you don't read newspapers or watch the news.)

In reality, I have several friends who are undecided and traveled to Northern Arizona to see Kerry this week and are going to try to see Bush speak today in Phoenix. They were impressed with Kerry's presence and affability - if they can't get into a Bush rally because they are undecided, I think it will really piss them off.

Bush had a rally in Phoenix last night and approximately 15000 people showed up. Pretty impresive. My friends were able to attend without having to sign anything, but they did get tickets from a Republican friend. While they were able to attend a member of Kerry's campaign was not welcome.

The Bush-Cheney rally didn't hang out a sign saying so, but there was "no vacancy" for one highly visible campaign official.

Sue Walitsky, communications director for the Kerry-Edwards campaign in Arizona, said she had a valid ticket to the event at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix but was refused admittance with no explanation.

"I wanted to hear the president's speech," Walitsky said. She said she wore no Kerry button, nor did she carry any campaign paraphernalia that might have disturbed Bush backers.

If Republicans with valid tickets showed up at a Kerry rally, "we'd let them in," she said.

Danny Diaz, spokesman for the Bush campaign, suggested that Walitsky wanted to attend the rally "to see how it should be done," but the event was designed for "people who have put their time and energy into the campaign or are seriously considering voting for him."

"If she's ready to come to her senses and support him, we'll be happy to welcome her in," Diaz said.

Doug Wilson, state director of the Kerry campaign, said, "I thought that a president was a president of all the people and that all had a right to listen regardless of political affiliation."
