Ron Jr. a Dem Party leader in the making? and other musings on tonight's Conv.

Best speech tonight was Ronny Jr. he truly impressed me.

Yes, it was well rehearsed but he was funny, informative, did not talk down to anyone and very charismatic.

I don't know if he is a Dem. (I believe in the 80's he did a few articles for RS and claimed to be a Dem.), but if he is the party needs to recruit him and see if he'd run for office. The man has great potential.

As for Obama, another very powerful man, but for some reason he seems to perfect. Maybe I'm tainted and pessimistic when it comes to politics but something about the man seems very disengenuous. Very charismatic and will definately go far, just hope I'm too suspicious and tainted.

Teresa Heinz Kerry: didn't impress me the way she took the podium and her hand movements gave me the impression she believes herself to be some form of royalty. Have a feeling she makes Hilary look like Snow White. Not impressed at all by her, thank God I am voting for her husband and not her, or for the second time in a row I'd be voting Nader.

As for the Moore vs. O'Reilly show, found it quite boring, both sides refused to answer questions and both sides really didn't accomplish anything at all, all I can say is RATINGS PLOY.

Aside from my personal feelings about the speakers, I get the feeling the Dems. seem very energized already and hopefully can carry that energy into Nov. and win.

Wish I had seen Kennedy and Dean but will surf the net and look for transcripts and judge their speeches.

Anyway, would like to hear from fellow Dems. (only please to avoid flamefests and arguments) to see how they rated tonight's speches.

Obama was great. I can't wait to see where this guy goes. I don?t think if Ron should join the dems. It could make it hard for him to get this stem cell thing done the way he genuinely it he becomes partisan. Mrs. Kerry was kinda boring as things go, at least after watchin Obama and Reagan. On other thoughts at the moment, back when I can digest more of this.

i was shocked by obama, that guy is going places....

ron reagan speaking at the DNC was a total surprise, i kept thinking it was someone else and not THE ron reagan...

Umm, overally, not bad, i am sad i missed clinton's last nght

Well, in a way, you ARE voting for THK. Take a look at what other first-wives have done while their husbands have been in office. If Kerry wins, THK will have an impact on his policy decisions. I wouldn't agree that she is worse than Hillary, but she certainly isn't as smooth as Hillary is.

I really like Obama. I think the melting pot populism message has been very lacking in politics of late. I have to wait to watch the rest later tonight on C-SPAN, I was in class.

Ron needs to stay non-partisan.

I want to see him give the exact same speech at the Republican National Convention. Exactly, even down to deriding those few who lean on religion to make a decision that negatively impacts the many.

I don't know to what extent the First Lady has an impact aside from Clinton. Nancy Reagan did a lot of "Just Say No" crap, Barbara Bush read to kids, and Laura Bush doesn't do shit. Hillary was a First Lady with her own political aspirations -- other first ladies have been content to help further their husband's political career.

two words: eleanor roosevelt. After her, almost all 1st ladies had something to live up to.

But i have to say, Laura hasnt' done jack...

as for THK, i like her message and the way she delivers it. She's not my 'favorite' but she's really got something to say vs some of the others who are just pandering to the crowd.

That's my .20 again, inflation isa bitch

Those few amount to about 40-45% of the population.

Couldn't agree more.

FYI Ron Reagan is currently an Independent, but his speech ("This November cast your vote for embrionic stem cell research") and his performance on MSNBC lead me to believe he will be voting for Kerry.

I agree fully. I agree with his support of the issue, but polls would probably confirm my suspicion that stem cell research won't be the deciding factor in the voting booth.
