Democratic Underground
Has anyone ever heard of democraticunderground.com? They are a "democratic forum" where a bunch of wild eyed leftists sit around a think of ways to bash the president without directly threatening his life. I came across this thread today and could not believe my eyes. Please take a look and comment. Especially if you are a member of DU. I guess this thread is more for US citizens but please feel free to comment.

Never been to DU before, but it looks like a joke thread, on the basis of all the "The Dutch - they'd free the pot!" replies. So, *shrug* - there's my comment

Yes, I've more than a passing knowledge of DU.

My question is not have you ever heard of the DU (www.democraticunderground.com). My question is: Has the left (or democrats) really gone that far left? To hope that your country is invaded by another country that more suits your political views is going too far. It's treasonous I suppose.

This is solely my own opinion, but I think that DU is the refuge for far left conspiracy contingent much the way I think FreeRepublic is for the right. I have heard many Democrats shun the site for that reason. It is also a shining example of what I never want on TFP; mindless vindictive, unsubstantiated accusations, and overwhelming censorship. And if you spend enough time lurking there, you will find that posts like the one you linked are deadly serious.

I was not familiar with this site, and after spending some time looking at it, I think it will be the last time I visit it.
I think the bulk of people were kidding around about another country invading the U.S., but I have no use for a site as mindless as this appears to be.
