First, I've heard arguments about that commandment meaning that you simply should worship God over all other gods, not that he's the only one.
Two, Skull & Bones is not much more then a VERY secretive fraternity. They have their rituals and secret activities, but a lot of places do similar things.

yeah... i admit this is just pure speculation on my part:
i'm willing to bet that all of the intrigue and sacred rituals done by these secret societies is done just to make themselves appear mysterious to outsiders. ok... so they probably have some pretty bizarre initiation rites... so do the masons and the shriners. it is an elitist society that is part of what is often an elitist institution (yale). of course they would have a lot of members in high-up positions. i bet the all-star roster of a lot of other clubs at yale, their student government, and their school newspaper have names of similar prestige on them. you know what i think goes on behind closed doors in the Bones compound? lots of excessive drinking and debauchery. same as all the frat-houses on every campus in america. just my opinion of course... nothing more.

I doubt it. He may not be as religious as he sometimes tries to look, but he's not just pandering for votes.
I'll bet if you look at a lot of Republican senators' pasts you will find a frat connection in many, even the "religious right" ones. That doesn't make them any less honest, just that they were young at one point, and did what a lot of college students do: join a frat, drink, fuck, etc.

Bush is a born again christian. The most reasonable explanation is that if he truly believed in a Skull and Bones god, he shed that belief when he fully took on Jesus. I'm sure it's mostly ceremonial. There's a certain aspect of privelage that you can do things that go beyond the bounds of accepted behavior for "normal" people. I'm sure that has a lot to do with the esoteric rituals and unorthodox beliefs practiced in private. It also enhances the cohesion, secrecy, and mystique of the organization. Ritual and ceremony are very important and powerful things.

I'm usually the last one to try to quell a conspiracy theory, but has anyone considered that the current Bonesmen are sitting on a couch with a couple of cases of beer and a bowl of chicken wings laughin whenever people suspect them of being sinister and evil? Maybe the high number of Bonesmen in high places has something to do with their Ivy-league diplomas. If a president has a choice between several qualified people, and one was his frat brother in college, wouldn't you expect him to pick the brother over an unknown?

Seems you left out that Kerry belongs to this childish group also, or is it that you only see what you want and filter out the rest?

I really think the whole Skull & Bones conspiracy theory is a little blown out of preportion. It is only a version of a fraternal order that is comprised of people who are from influential families or stand out at one of the world's greatest universities. It is not a surprise that a great number of leaders come out of such a group. I would love to know how many are in jail or broke. Probably a fair number. (This is of course speculatory and petty jealously on my part, since I never would have been asked to be a member)
