Good for a quick laugh...
Disarm Saddam Hussein
I'll decline pasting the content, as the actual site has the punchline. If someone else wants to, feel free. |
What's the funny part? That he disobeyed the UN because he never believed anything would happen, and it finally did?
|
geez sparhawk, I would have figured by now that you would now the facts of the matter aren't relevent.
The reasons we got into war don't hold up, so we have changed the reasons. Get with the program. Are you unpatriotic? Is that the problem? He is our sitting president, show a little respect. What kind of terrorist sympathizer are you, anyway? He was a bad man, he had to go! How could you even question that? Or is the punch line that it doesn't take much to distract the issue from lies to told us by our president, and shift it to something else? Which of the many points are you suggesting? The above move from issue to attack is just my current favorite response. |
I know you are being coy, but the historical ironies on the white house page are what get a tickle out of me, stuff like:

Just blows my mind that all that "proof" didn't pan out - I was truthfully surprised. And I consider myself cynical when it comes to believing the authorities.
What blows my mind even more is that vast numbers of people can completely overlook the issue. I'm hard pressed to think of an analogous lie in modern times. Something that cost the lives, time, money, future consequences, etc. of this one. And yet it doesn't matter... |

^You're right, Tarkin did it.

Ooh busted....
Wait! No! You're just covering for vader, you filthy planetocide apologists. Next you're going to try to claim that vader didn't betray the jedi and wasn't responsible for the wholesale slaughter of an entire village of sandpeople. |

You know whats sad, I'm not a big Starwars fan, I liked the first three well enough, but I didn't own a single toy nor did I really want to. Yet despite this I can recite most of the first movie and saw it 20+ times. Why do you ask?
The year was 1978, VCR's were a new toy for the home and my father had one. Quality metal switches and all (lasted about 15 years) and of course there was a problem, no movies to watch. Well I don't know how or who but my father got a few pirated tapes, one of which was Starwars. Every fucking person who came over, esp if they had kids HAD to watch it, and watch it they did. I think I started hoping the empire would win, which I'm sure explains a lot :D |

I really wanted to make a serious comment about this, but after reading all the posts I simply cannot - I acutally got a laugh out of this one.
P.S. I heard that the new Sith Lord in the next movie is Darth Rove. |

I had a friend who never took his own toys out of the packaging because he knew how much they would be worth. We're talking a Kid MY age, who wasn't even born when the first movie came out. We weren't nearly as envious as you might think; after all, we got to PLAY with our toys. |

I had a friend who did the same thing. He bought every single action figure that they made since phantom. Never opened any of them, just hung them all in his hallway. I find it hard to believe that they'll ever be worth very much money, since i'm sure lot of people did the exact same thing. What the hell do i know though? |
