Pretty much exactly where I thought I'd be. I'm very moderate, but lean very slightly to the right. And I'm definitely more libertarian than authoritarian, this number surprised me a bit, I expected it to be around -3.

I took this once before and was almost exactly right there, so I suppose that this test is accurate.

That survey was soooo left-biased that you had to be very careful of the wording. However, I still wound up on the right, just where I belong. :D

It wasn't really biased in either direction, the statements had to take a certain side, so that when users chose whether they agreed or not, their side was easier to define. If the statements wavered in the middle the whole time, it kinda defeats the purpose of that method of testing.

Now if I only had some idea of what it meant I'd have it made! Right?

Did I do this right - it seems to be a long way from what everyone else is coming up with?

I did it again and still came up with just about the same - right in the middle? Am I doing it wrong?

I didn't know if that was good or bad so I got a definition:
http://www.chronwatch.com/featured/c...ay.asp?aid=816

''Center-wing''

Republican definition: A political system consisting of three types of people, in which if you are in the center, then you are a moderate or a ''centrist.''

Democrat definition: You are considered to be a ''centrist'' if we like you and your causes; you aren't a left wing liberal, you are a normal, average person, even though you espouse communism and/or socialism.

When you read this, remember that the whole point of the liberal is to put Republicans in as bad an image as they can. Thus they hope that the people who let the media think for them won’t vote for a Republican candidate. They also are hoping to keep the Democrat base from switching parties.

They obviously won’t come out and say that the Democrat leaders are a bunch of left-wingers with glorious visions of a communist America. What they do is try to place the left wing of the party in the center, the center wing on the right or conservative side, and the real conservatives off the edge of the political map.

I still don't know if it was good or bad!!!!

..also physically ill from reading the paranoiac and screedish right wingers all over the web... of course i seek 'em out.

I believe an US of A centrist would have about a

A/L -4

I don't reckon -6 is centrist at all.

LD, it's good if you're comfortable where you are. Who else should judge you? Not that there aren't many who would... :)

BTW, I love "democratic" definitions written by non-democrats. Nothing like words being put in your mouths. Would love to see the democratic version of this. :D

Smooth: great numbers, man! Those are clearly where all right-thinking people should be. And when I say "right-thinking", I of course mean "correct". :D

That is the most absurdly biased right-wing BS I have ever seen. Political parties are meant to balance each other out and create order, not try to kill each other. I'm not just saying that because I'm liberal. I wouldn't want to live in a society where I'm considered to be correct and people like sixate and BoCo are deported. We need both sides to keep ourselves sensible.

oh, by the way, I'm at

If so many of us are in the same area, we must share the same views on a lot of issues. So, why is every discussion I see lately an argument? I guess the tenths of a point really make the difference.

I find it interesting that Thatcher and Hitler were so close on the scale.

Actually, cross these numbers with the posts and you'll find that the numbers and the arguments are pretty consistent. That is, I haven't seen the -7 to -5's arguing with each other. Conversely, I haven't seen the +3 to +5's arguing with themselves, either.

iccky 05-10-2003 09:24 PM

I'm new here so I guess I'll introduce myself with my political compass reading: -5.75, -7.03

ubertuber 05-31-2003 06:20 PM

I know I am seriously late in responding, but I feel like I should introduce myself as (apparently) the only right wing libertarian ever!

Authoritarian/Libertarian: -5.08

VirFighter 06-03-2003 02:24 PM

I thought I was more "libertarian" than that but oh well. Some of the wording on the questions can be a litttle confusing, I wasn't sure what issue some of the questions were trying to get at. I know what I believe and I stand by it so that's all that really matters.

ubertuber: There are lots of people like us. Its called the Libertarian Party, our nation's largest 3rd party :)

Well, that's not surprising to anyone, least of all myself. I'm more leftist than Nelson Mandela and more libertarian than the Dalai Llama. Frowning Budah, I hope you left out some minuses, else you're more in Tony Blair territory.
How did I miss this before? I need to pay closer attention...

Ugh, that quiz had some of the most poorly worded questions I have ever seen. I'm inclined to think that those numbers are about right, though.
