they used to have a "KKK for kids" site that was directly linked to the KKK website. they had this whole section rationalizing the burning of the cross. that was funny.

It also offends me, but I assume that is the point.

Fortunately, the REAL youth section on the NRA site is more informative and doesn't make lite of children and firearms safety.

NRA Hosts Record Number of Shooting Sports Camps

The National Rifle Association and its network of local gun clubs across the United States have hosted over 100 Shooting Sports Camps so far this year, a record number. Shooting Sports Camps offer community-based firearm training opportunities for youths, adults, and families, and provide a safe, hands-on learning environment under the supervision of experienced shooters, coaches, and instructors.
"We are especially proud of the record number of young people who have participated in our Youth Shooting Sports Camps, and learned important lessons about gun safety and the sheer fun of the shooting sports," said Craig D. Sandler, Executive Director of General Operations at the NRA.

Shooting Sports Camps offer a wide variety of learning opportunities, and are divided into broad types, such as safety and firearm education, basic shooting, hunter education, competition, trap shooting, youth-only, and special interest camps. Instruction may be offered in basic rifle, shotgun, handgun, air gun, archery, and blackpowder shooting, as well as hunting and conservation.

George Wilson, Camp Director of Old Colony Sportsmen's Association in Pembroke, MA, said, "There is no better investment in introducing new people to the shooting sports that an NRA Shooting Sports Camp." And according to Lynda L. Miller, Camp Director of the McClean Rifle Range in Bismark, ND, "Without the help of the NRA, our heritage would be lost forever."

NRA's youth programs are supported by The NRA Foundation and especially by its Brownell Family Endowment. Frank Brownell, President of Brownell's, the Iowa-based gunsmithing supply house, said, "I'll never forget squirrel hunting with Dad, or all the hours 'plinking', or all the big game hunts. Those experiences are part of who I am, and the opportunity for our kids to experience them cannot be allowed to perish."

It was because of this interest in preserving America's firearm heritage for young people that the Brownell family became a permanent sponsor of NRA's National Youth Shooting Sports Camp Program, which reaches over 10,000 kids annually. "Through its programs, NRA links our shooting past and present to the future, and helps make sure that our traditions continue for our kids and grandkids. We truly feel investing in our youth and the shooting sports is the best way to guarantee our freedoms, and a strong future for the NRA and America," Brownell added.

For an anti-gun sight, the creators seemed remarkably informative about the weapons. I also like how they make fun of policemen and prison guards in their two children stories.

Gotta love peaceniks, very creative site.

I wonder if they have a bong and love site?

My 12 year old daughter is pretty good with my smaller pieces, and she cant wait to shoot my acp .45.
But she knows how to handle and respect a firearm with safety as the primary goal.

What are you having her wait for? When is she strong enough to handle the recoil?

Its a funny site. Stereotypes are very funny. The only time stereotypes become a problem is when people believe them to be true. Sadly I see that a lot with people who don't understand firearms and the people that enjoy them. Look at the url nra-kkk. Its unfortunate that a lot of people really believe that these organizations are even somewhat related. Its like having a parody site called ACLU-alquaida.org, its ridiculous.

That is exactly right, she is still too light to handle the slide action,
which would knock some girly men down.

I would rather have my children respect firearms and know how to use them since I do own a few, than have them be afraid of them.

She has seen first hand what a round can do to the human body from the scar and missing lat muscle on my body.

Also am a member of the NRA. Funny site, though. Peoples with strong moral character and a small bit of common sense need not be afraid of parody, ignorance, or misguided interest.
BTW- she has a pellet gun auswegian.

Those kids are not going to bail when push comes to shove. Part of me says 'great', but the other part is saying 'what the fuck.' Survival of the fittest I suppose.

BB guns! I used to slaughter all the rodents and pigeons around my house when I was a kid. My neighbors started getting pissed about having the pigeon holocaust remotely located in their back yards though, so that put and end to that.

I just got my bb gun back from my mom like last week when I helped her move. I should get a real one for shooting targets.
