Jews are the root of evil? Betcha didn't here this story yet...

'Zorba the Greek': Jews are 'root of evil' Composer's remarks virtually unnoticed despite TV coverage Flanked by Greek government leaders, composer Mikis Theodorakis of "Zorba the Greek" fame issued a scathing denunciation of Jews at a reception covered extensively by the national media. "Today, we can say that these little people are the root of evil," said Theodorakis, 78, according to Agence France-Presse. Despite the media attention given to the event – a Nov. 4 reception for publication of his autobiography – the anti-Semitic remarks were repeated only in a small right-wing newspaper. Greek Jewish leaders have criticized government leaders for not reacting. Theodorakis "repeated in the 21st century opinions from the darkest Middle Ages and slogans used by Nazi Germany, fanning both inside and outside the country the winds of intolerance and racism," the Central Jewish Council of Greece charged in a statement, according to AFP. The popular composer, a committed left-wing political activist, was jailed under the fascist junta that ruled Greece in the late 1960s and early 1970s, AFP noted. He made the comments with Culture Minister Evangelos Venizelos and Education Minister Petros Efthymiou at his side. AFP said neither minister reacted when Theodorakis said Greeks and Jews "are two peoples without kin, but they had fanaticism and self-knowledge and managed to prevail." The government distanced itself from the remarks. "The government does not share and is not in agreement with the opinion expressed by Mr. Theodorakis," spokesman Christos Protopapas said. He added, however, that "despite the disagreement" the composer "is still held in high regard" by the government for his works.
This makes me sick! Notice how the media, run mostly by Jews in America totally covered this up! It's a shame they're not looking out for their own people. LINK

I wonder about the growing Anti-semitism throughout Europe. Have they killed or expelled so many Jews that there are not enough left for people to develop relationships with this ethnic group? I wonder if they just see them as an easy target for blame for many of societies ills. It seems so base.
This is not an excuse. I grew up in the South of the US and have had very little interaction with Jews, but I dont see them as a repository for all the worlds ills. I know that some of the European attitudes are influenced by the large amount of immigration from Muslim countries. It is all kind of sickening.

well, to me, it looks like this was just an article aimed at making the left wing associated with racists and the right wing as the only people who dare uncover this story.
this story deserves inpartial coverage, but since it aligned its wording in politics, im gonna have to pass on commenting on this particular article. |

OMG! I love Jewish conspiracy theories. They own the media, they run legal institutions, they are plotting to take over the world!!!! For God's sake what on Earth would Jewish Americans have to gain by covering this up? If anything they want anti-semitism exposed to rally against. Its a tragedy that the Greek authorities don't at least decry these remarks and furthermore that the US and international community don't follow suit.

During the early 90's, the BURNING HATRED AGAINST BOSNIANS grew like nothing else. That's what happens when people from different factions in warring countries emigrate. The feelings are not gone. I would say that the most hated group in Europe is the Turkish group. The racists don't like them, the Greeks and the Kurds and the Bulgarians really hate them. But since there is no word that means "Not liking a Turk", it isn't reported. The Libanese don't like the Jews. This is unfortunate, but hardly surprising. Hell, I know a few Somalis who don't like Americans. I wouldn't call that surprising or newsworthy either. As for the newsstory - "singer talks politics". This has clearly been blown out of proportion. I didn't care when Bruce Willis called Louis Farrakhan nice, and I care even less what Mikis has got to say. It's all about playing on old feelings. Anti-Semitism doesn't mean more to me than any other type of racial prejudice does. It's just a more effective word to throw around.

Meh. European anti-Semitism is a bit of a bugbear these days. I know a lot of people, European and otherwise, who oppose Israeli politics, complain about "Jewish" control of the media and soforth. But they aren't the least bit anti-semitic. Hell, I know a few Jews whom make "anti-semitic" comments. The European Left is painted as anti-semitic all the time, but its a load of BS.
And besides, that site linked to doesn't seem to be much for unbiased reporting. Give me a link to Reuters or the BBC and then maybe I'll take it seriously.

You people sound like a bunch of apologists to me. Looks like all the media brainwashing over the last 40 years worked like a charm.
