N00b question. Which way does this forum lean politically?
Is it fairly in the middle, or is it way to the extremes like the nuts at democraticunderground or freerepublic?
Man, some of those guys, especially at DU are a bunch of frigging nuts. |
Seems to me it's a little bit of both.
And there doesn't seem to be alot of moderates in here, but we do exist! Correct me if I'm wrong, though. |
I lean forward.

It isn't in the middle so much as all over the place. The Politics forum is kind of bipolar, so if you want a better idea of what TFP thinks in general you should spend your reading time in General Discussion.
I don't know if I'm right or wrong about them, but here are a few trends I've noticed since I joined. We're - not politically correct and resent censorship - extremely open-minded about sexuality - not very religious but can be quite spiritual - divided over abortion, gun control - very divided over drug use - somewhat patriotic With many, many individual exceptions to all of the above. Any older TFP'ers want to correct me? |
It's a cross section of humanity. We all have our own views. Some agree with others' viewpoints, some conflict. As a whole, I think it's a more intelligent group than you might get in a random polling sample.

politics and religion are, to me anyway, very personal.
with 29,000 members, a small city, you have both the right and the left and as well as those that vote the lesser of the two evils. sometimes we should look at expressing our own beliefs, feelings and emotions and not take issue with those of others... when all you have is a hammer - everything looks like nails??? i think not - just debate the topic with your head and heart and not your distaste for how others may feel. thank you for letting me take this time to say thank for letting me take this time to say thank you for letting me... |
