Remembering Edward Said
 

Just thought I'd mention for those of you who hadn't heard, Edward Said passed away yesterday.

He was a brilliant man, an eloquent speaker, and definitely the most influencial voice concerning the Palestinian cause. It's a shame he's gone, this world could use more people just like him.

Interesting that no one has replied to this...

I've read his book Orientalism and heard him speak at my University (lost my favourite hat at that lecture).

I didn't always agree with him but would say that he was an extremely important voice and that he will be missed.
