I don't generally get my news from the television, so I'm not partial to any particular set of newscasters. I plan to record the inauguration and watch it later that evening, so I won't be able to browse to figure out which is the "best" channel - I need to choose it before it happens.

Which channel will you be watching, and why?

i'm guessing it will be on a ton of stations. I'd think C-SPAN or maybe PBS would give you the feed with the least amount of interruption and commentary. I'll probably watch CNN

We tried to get the BBC video feed online, but our Internet connection sucks at work, so we'll just keep in tune to CBC Radio 1 and hope the do something worthwhile.

I'll watch some footage once I get home tonight.

Yes, it was better than I was expecting too. Somehow I doubted that speech could be up to the moment, given what the press has made out of Obama's inauguration, but it was very well done.

i watched some of cbs feed.
what idiots they had talking talking talking in the way that american baseball announcers talk talk talk--like baseball announcers, they seem to assume you can't figure out what you're seeing.
at one point, they helpfully explained that what you were seeing at the center of the image was obama encased in what was, in fact, an overcoat--a point about there really was not a whole lot of room for ambiguity---they continued by saying that he wore this overcoat in response to the cold weather, and added that obama was sensitive to the cold, and so wore an overcoat. by all appearances, they were concerned that the sudden appearance on a cold day of an overcoat would derail the viewership, perhaps sending them en masse toward their refrigerators to grab a sandwich or god knows what.

and this was something of an analytic high point.
