Great in-depth Newsweek election project article
Highlights: Newsweek's Special Election Project | Newsweek Politics: Campaign 2008 | Newsweek.com
I have read through Chapter 4. It's more of an e-book than an article, but it's the aggregated reports from the 'embedded' reporters in all major campaigns, from the primaries through election day. Awesome behind the scenes stuff that makes you appreciate what just happened.

Yeah, I'm on to Ch. 4 now, but have to take a break because once I start, I can't stop reading till the end... and have too much work to do!!! But it's FANTASTIC writing, absolutely enthralling stuff. It feels like actual political ethnography, which is a step above regular journalism (for me). Can't wait to finish the whole thing... trying to savor it as I can. My favorite bits are the quotes by Obama that really demonstrate just how down-to-earth he is (I love the quote about the "fucking light bulbs," hehe).

It took me about a week to read all 7 chapters and absolutely loved it. The writing was far above what I normally attribute to day-to-day news columns.
