dk..is there an official court transcript or is this just the ramblings on gun and militia movement blogs? I did see in the article that records indicated that Olofson allegedly "had provided weapons and ammunition to so many people he couldn't keep track. A search of his home turned up books on converting rifles to fully automatic, and e-mail on his computer showed he bought M-16 parts" ....and that "Olofson had contact with vigilante groups and professed to be part of the sovereign movement, which doesn't acknowledge federal laws as applying to them" Why should I be sickened that some anti-government vigilante militia guy got caught breaking the law?

It's called recklessness. He had or should have had the knowledge that a machine gun is an automatic weapon. His acting in disregard of that information renders him liable. This isn't tyranny, this is common sense and justice.
