WMDs Found!

http://news.independent.co.uk/world/...p?story=417787

Quote:
In his weekly radio address yesterday, Mr Bush was forced to produce a new explanation of why the US has not found Iraq's alleged chemical and biological weapons. He told listeners that suspect sites had been looted in the closing days of Saddam Hussein's regime.
OMFG! What's next? The french helped the looters?

I have to admit, Bush is a brilliant comedian.

First the WMDs were destroyed, now they were looted. Great what is next? Aliens (French?) captured them?

Bush should answer a few simple questions:
if they were looted after saddams regime, why weren't they used when saddam was still in control?
If they were looted, where are they now? And who looted them?

No, next is when we finally get some Iraqi official to explain what happened to the weapons. This might prove that they were destroyed years ago (which Iraq failed to prove), it might prove that they were hidden somewhere, or it might lead to something completely different.

Once upon a time...

Its growing farcical, they miss saddam. lose Usama, Omar, no weapons of mass distraction are located.

Remember these were weapons 45 mins from launch apparently... now they have been "looted" and bush and Rummy are saying "Inspections take Time, time we refused to give Blix"

Manalone... how much time would you have given Blix? A further 12 years? Suppose we would not have found anything by then? Go on another decade?

When is it enough?

Then the real matter

I guess we will all forget the fact that the UN weapons Inspectors themselves stated in 1997 that Iraq had wmd's and that they ever gave an explination of where these weapons were stored or how they were destroyed instead just saying they never existed. Wow that Bush better stop trusting facts that every country in the world was provided.

"The Iraqi regime . . . possesses and produces chemical and biological weapons. It is seeking nuclear weapons."

"We know that the regime has produced thousands of tons of chemical agents, including mustard gas, sarin nerve gas, VX nerve gas."

"We've also discovered through intelligence that Iraq has a growing fleet of manned and unmanned aerial vehicles that could be used to disperse chemical or biological weapons across broad areas. We're concerned that Iraq is exploring ways of using these UAVS for missions targeting the United States."

"The evidence indicates that Iraq is reconstituting its nuclear weapons program. Saddam Hussein has held numerous meetings with Iraqi nuclear scientists, a group he calls his "nuclear mujahideen" -- his nuclear holy warriors. Satellite photographs reveal that Iraq is rebuilding facilities at sites that have been part of its nuclear program in the past. Iraq has attempted to purchase high-strength aluminum tubes and other equipment needed for gas centrifuges, which are used to enrich uranium for nuclear weapons."

1) No, you're not preaching to the choir.
2) No, you didn't invade a country for oil.
3) Yes, you have a moron as prez.
4) Yes, you're moron prez is apparently smart enough to deceive most Americans on a daily basis. Quite impressive for an "inarticulate buffoon".
5) Belgium will not go anywhere; they already dismissed all charges against the US administration, as they should have done weeks ago.

a) this speaks more for the idiocy of the American people than for the impressive deceptive abilities of our Moron in Chief
b) as far as I'm concerned, Bush is just a willing puppet, with Rumsfeld, Cheney, Wolfowitz and Rove pulling the string on his back. THEY'RE the ones who are smart enough to deceive most Americans on a daily basis.

Er... no. If you had read the thread, you'd realize that I was responding to (Trollish) Nowlookit, who knows it all. If Bush is such a buffoon, as he claims, how come most Americans can be deceived by his elaborate plans and conspiracies? He and his gang can somehow make up a plan to blame Al-Qaida (which they set up in the first place) for 9-11, even though they/the Jews actually flew those planes into the buildings, then start a war on terror, invade Afghanistan to get a natural gas pipeline going, invade Iraq, "capture" that country's oil supplies, and do much more... All those things are *obviously* tied to the oil industry, even though they would not stand to gain that much, and most of the companies would lose out. Now, after all of that, he's still seen as an inarticulate buffoon.

So what is it? Is he either a moron, or a criminal mastermind? Or is he perhaps a puppet, controlled by a group of shady criminal masterminds who are the *actual* leaders?

Or... could it be that he's just a guy with reasonable intelligence, who tries to do what he thinks best, making mistakes occasionally, but on average doing quite well? Could it be that not everything he does is part of a giant conspiracy to get rich and powerful?

OK, that's it, is anyone else getting the sense that they were completely wrong about Bush? That he's not a Chimpanzee in a suit? That he is, in fact, Elmer Fudd, and Rummy is the Chickenhawk from Foghorn Leghorn. (I know Cheney looks more like Fudd, but he is actually Marvin the Martian. Ain't no WMD like an Illudium Pu32 Explosive Space Modulator.)

This right vs left crap is getting tiresome. There are plenty of folks who don't care right or left, just get it CORRECT! From where I sit, I see a lot of dead Americans, even more dead Iraqis, and mounting evidence that the reasons given for going were LIES.

I am thrilled for the Iraqi population. My Chaldean friends are most appreciative.

But the families of the dead Americans deserve better. How many GIs will suffer even after coming home? Post-traumatic disorder is already killing whole families!

Don't start re-writing history already. WMDs were THE reason for going to war, and despite any other good that has come, the administration needs to answer for them. Otherwise, what they've done is murder, premeditated (an impeachable offense).

Look, President Bush sees a large amount of intelligence reports. Most of them have slightly different conclusions. One piece may say that Iraq has 500 tons of WMDs, one may say they are looking into developing a Nuclear program. Bush needed to make a decision. I think he made the best one given the information he was provided. Everyone can say we haven't found WMDs. True, no argument here, but what if Bush hadn't done anything, and his intelligence was right. Maybe Saddam was starting up, or looking into starting up a nuclear program. Better safe than sorry in my opinion.

The only mistake Bush made was to say the war was about WMDs. If he had given a more vague reason, the media wouldn't be going nuts over the lack of WMD finds. The UN inspectors were given since the first Persian Gulf war to find something (with the exception of when they were kicked out). How about we give the Administration a chance. Hell, the war isn't offically over yet! How about we wait until then.

How so?
Considering the First Gulf war was never over, just a cease-fire was declared.

So being that Hussien did not comply with the agreements of that cease-fire we just re-opened the same can of whoop ass on him.

The great UN voted for it in 1441.

Well, since Bush interrupted Friends that one night to tell us Iraq had WMD and since they weren't destroyed, we were invading unless Hussein left in a day, I think the war had more to do with WMD than a UN resolution, not to mention the UN didn't even support this intervention anyways.

If this whole "cease-fire" theory thing holds up, I guess we're still at war with Vietnam too.

Actually Vietnam ended with an armistice and a withdrawl, and a loss on the US part.

And the Chinese will handle their little bastard step-child NK.
