Al Gore's Son Arrested On Drug Suspicion
Al Gore's Son Arrested On Drug Suspicion
I don't know if he's guilty or not...but if he is, get the Bush twins to bring the alcohol and you could have one bad ass 4th of July party! |
"Al Gore III, 24, was driving a blue Toyota Prius about 100 mph on the San Diego Freeway..."
I'm surprised a Prius even goes that fast. I wonder if GoreII (or Sr.?) will issue a statement on how proud he is of his son driving a hybrid car even if he replaces auto pollution with dope smoke? |
This is a non-story as is anything about the Bush twins.
|
The Prius can actually go over 100 mph. And it even get's okay gas mileage at that speed.
BTW, mj bust? Even if this were the son of my worst enemy, I'd be like, "Who cares?" It's bud, and it's not like he was drunk or something. |

The only thing that comes to mind for me is back in the 80s when growing up is Tipper Gore going after the damned record industry getting those stupid parental labels on records. Where is your Parental Label crap now????
|
He's an adult, fercrissakes, and he's responsible for his own decisions. Mommy and Daddy can only do so much, and they're not responsible for the stupid things Junior might do.
I just hope he learns to straighten out and fly right. |
wait...am i supposed to care about this? i dont watch tv so sometimes am not aware of what i am supposed to care about. has this been officially declared a Matter of Concern? if it isnt a Matter of Official Concern, then maybe someone could fill me in on why anyone, anywhere, should give a shit about this story?
|
Al Gore's son, 100mph in Prius. It's funny. It has comedic value.
|
i dont get it.

roachboy is having some issues with summoning empathy for the privileged, go figure. He'd probably be in mourning if it was the son of an anonymous revolutionary insurgent field captain somewhere.
AG3s got a lot to live up to. They say greatness skips a generation. Hope he finds his niche. |
let us all don sackcloth and ashes and begin a period of empathetic weeping and lamentation for the Personal Sufferings of the Children of Celebrities Everywhere.
o boo hoo the Plight of Being a Child of Celebrity. boo hoo. sniffle... and THEN there are all the Difficulties that Attend Growing Up Wealthy. o. my. god. boo hoo. its terrible the suffering of the rich. yes it is. awful. just awful. happy now powerclown? that the sort of ritual that you do? just trying to get with the program here. i feel out of step with things because i cant figure out why this is a significant news story at all. obviously this comes down to some cheap form of "class envy" as you would have it. wait, i feel more weeping at the Horrid Plight of the Wealthy and Famous coming on. i cant continue....it's too painful.... |

I didn't grow up rich but I can empathize with someone having issues of addiction. Seems to me a universal problem, regardless of socio-economic status. Well nevermind me, let the mocking continue!
|
Addiction? Neither marijuana nor driving fast are chemically addictive, and we have no evidence to really suggest that he is psychologically addicted to either of those things. Sounds like a fallacy to elicit sympathy. Sorry, PC.
RB is right in that this is a non-story. I happen to think it's funny that the son of Al Gore speeds, but he does it in a way that's better for the environment. He's a chip off the old block. I still hope Al will sign on to the green party and run for 2008. I'd vote for him. |

I guess that makes me addicted to cuban cigars. I get them illegally, and they have chemicals that are addictive. I only smoke about one a year, but because I get them illegally and they can be addictive, I must be addicted.
|
How many people are arrested each year for this sort of thing? I agree with roachboy, this shouldn't be considered news. There must be more important things to cover.

Odds are, if you smoke 1 cigar a year, you're probably not addicted.

I think I used the term "dependency" as opposed to "addiction". People who need a little something to get them through the day - like Xanax - may not be, in the strictest sense, addicted always, but they have problems.

1. Has comedic value on par with: A) Britney's shaven head/umbrella rampage B) The interview where Paris claims she's never been drunk or done drugs. C) The Bush daughter tying to drink underage in the Texas capital where her father spent two sessions as state governor and now President. 2. Regardless of 1, does not constitute news. |
The whole story has huge comedic value wriiten all over it,
Maybe he was racing a hybrid civic with a big wing and stickers, On a side note though Will why must you defend him, will you say he has a problem with drugs when he checks into a rehab center, cause you know he is going to daddy will insure of that. And my only other side comment in this whole joke of a news story is, if it was any prominent repubs kid would the reactions here be the same? I would be willing to wager not. |
As I understand it, there was an incident before. It's not defending him. Breaking the law is breaking the law. I don't see conclusive evidence that we're looking at addiction.
|
wow.. i guess there is some comedy to be found here....

I'd like to point out that where I live, I could have been caught with all of that AND some firearms, and I wouldnt be in violation of the law.
Being a hard-core conservative a lot of people thought I would just start bashing this guy, but I won't. |
