I'd be curious to see a list of promenent Democrats that didn't serve, although I'm sure none of them were given any preferential treatment.

In the 108th congress 72 republicans served in the military....49 democrats..
In the senate...18 republicans...16 Democrats... 1 independent.....
A convenient use of not all of the information...thanks to the internet we can find more than one source of information rather than a cut and paste from your favorite " I hate George Bush" website...which if you click a few links you'll find the complete list.

So I'm guessing that you mean you gather information, analyze and compare it with the current set of accepted opinions...examining if what you believe is really true.
If that is so why ignore the whole picture...more republicans than democrats have served for one. Serving in the military is not a condition to commanding our troops into war for B. If you want service to be required to have an opinion on matters of war put it in the constitution and make it a requirement for congressmen, senators, presidents and cabinet members.
Sorry to stray off topic there but somehow that post caught me at a "moment".

it helps to include your source /shrugs
