you have ANY idea how many ammendments and statutes and supreme court rulings that violates?

In this context:

1) Yes.
2) Yes.
3) Yes.
4) Yes.

If he gets the power, it will be legal, that's all I have to worry about. The lawmakers can work out the details.

I can live here and have my government protect me from terrorist assholes too.

Pacifier 06-15-2003 04:58 AM

yeah, but who protects you from your goverment?

Phaenx 06-15-2003 01:14 PM

The government protects itself from me. I don't care that people are being thrown in prison until we find out if they are a terrorist or not, if it's legal then there's no problem with me. Besides, I burned all the reciepts for all the c4 I bought last year so I should be fine.

Of course I'd have a problem with it, but then I'd also be a terrorist too, so I'd expect it, and understand it. There's a very simple process to ensure this doesn't happen to you: "Stop doing things that make you look like a terrorist, and noone will think you're a terrorist. Also, stop being a terrorist."

I don't think letting a guy that's sending money to muslim extremist groups in the middle east, buying explosives, and filming bridges roam around the United States while we investigate him is a good idea.

Perhaps he's planning a legitimate fireworks display on a bridge for independance day? ;)

The_Dude 06-16-2003 07:20 AM

Phaenx 06-16-2003 06:51 PM

Perhaps he is, but that would be incredibly stupid/insensitive in the context that we're on the lookout for middle easterners that buy explosives among other things.

How many? Point them out, then send them in a letter to Washington or a lawyer or someone. They'll hopefully explain the semantics of our lawmaking system in a response to how they plan on legally introducing their beefed up patriot bill.
