Why did you post this? Just to share? Nomad, please come back and at least tell us what you think of this. I checked it out. It's good - she sings well and it's timely. In fact, a little song like this could be more effective with the masses than splashy soundbites of Howard Dean in New Orleans. On the other hand (and I'm sort of saying this to get it out of the way), there are some lines in that song that.... "Let me tell you about hard work. Making minimum wage... Let me tell you about hard work. You don't know nothing about hard work..." I heard this saying once. It starts like this: people who live in glass houses... But I'll be honest, I went to iTunes and downloaded it. So I'm part of the reason Pink makes more than minimum wage to take shots at other people who make more than minimum wage.

This song is hilarious coming from someone like Pink, a millionaire lecturing a millionaire. She must be a "Stupid Girl" if she thinks she is not being a hypocrite.

She's right. Maybe I should vote Democrat in the next election. I know the Kennedys have learned what a hard days work is all about.

if yo uthink about it..was pink always a millionairre? IIRC, no
so she did, in some way, work hard as hell at some point for min wage or something near it. It's not like she was brought up with the simpsons or the kennedy's or the bush's. Now, that said, it's a song, it's meant to speak for more people than just the person singing it. still, in the light of the other pop songs out..it at least has some message..

So she should give away all her mundane possesions in order to be able to sing this song without been criticized? Give me a brake! in Cartman's words "Damn Hippies"

Well, the point is true no matter who says it. But, there's some enjoyable irony in a rock-star criticizing the president for being well-off. Nothing more, nothing less.
It'll be interesting to see how much radio play this gets - and if that translates into a barometer for people's attitudes come November.

Last thing I would want is a president who was poor.

Even if you see nothing contradictory between Nixon and Graham's power and influence, vs. their comments about "media control", my remaining, tiny remnant of hope is that you recognize that the onus is on you to convincingly back your "liberal media" mantra. The record shows that you have failed to do that, hence..... yet another response to your comments...like this one... Last edited by host; 04-23-2006 at 08:09 PM.. |
