Using California code as an example, wreckless and negligent driving have numerous codes mentioning it.

there's no specific law against reading a newpaper, watching TV, applying makeup etc.

wreckless driving here is something that you normally get if you're driving all over the road or are doing over 15 mph over the speed limit.

Wreckless driving is generally a very good thing. I think you're going for the reckless variety.

Move it over to the pun thread?

right, there's speeding, excessive speeding laws on the books and yet they still can use reckless driving!

of course I don't understand doing "burnouts" being called "exhibition of speed" since no speeding actually happens.

I think that "wreckless driving" qualifies as a very clever pun! I deplore reckless driving; I love wreckless driving!

...hmm...i got a warning for "improper start' that involved no speeding, but about 50 ft of skidmarks...and was quite reckless but also wreckless, so no charge there...

i think a lot of my issue with cell phones in cars is that i instantly blame the cell phone when a driver does something stupid. See a guy run a redlight while holding a phone and it's obviously the phone's fault, not the idiot behind the wheel...so i'll admit that i make snap judgements when i see someone on a cell phone make a big farkup, but it's just that i possibly don't see people do the same when not on a cell phone..or perhaps i just don't notice their mistakes as much.

Of course, the original post was about Ontario!

And hell, nobody seems to pay a traffic ticket around here.
