Another Artshow
1 Attachment(s)
Well, I'm going to try again. September 10, I will be participating in another juried artshow, this time in Dunellen, NJ. This show is over 30 years old and I'm glad I was able to get a spot. I will be concentrating a bit more on the photography including:

All in all, I'll probably have close to 20-25 framed pieces to be judged. Wish me luck! |
That is such an excellent thing, ng. Glad it is happening for you :)
|
Congrats, ng! Best of luck. Your work is amazing. :) Always remember that :)
|
Do well ng.
I like the rockers. Very serene.... |
Hey dawg, you can't miss with images like these. Go get 'em!
|
GOOD LUCK!!!! :D
I love these... you make any notecards with the rockers? :D |
Yes, I do, Amonkie. They look rather nice that way ;)
PJ, coming from you, that means a LOT! Thank you :icare: |
You will do well Dawg....such Talent.
|
Good look, ng! I guess I'll add my voice to the ones who think the shot of the chairs is definitely worthy of an award. I also like the shot below it of the barn.
|
Good luck with the show! Must be exciting to have your work on display like that.
And I really dig the mill shot. The bleak sky so fits the bleak mill. |
Hey dawg, I was just playin with one of these shots, and came up with some minor changes.
Your original: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/08...dyjoe/dawg.jpg and my tweaks: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/08...yjoe/dawg2.jpg thought it needed to be a bit more black and white, but you can tell me to go play in traffic if you'd like..... :D |
Hm. thanks, Master of the Electronic Eye. I will tweak and print and see what happens!
|
I don't know, while the black and white looks good, the original has just enough sepia to give it a somewhat haunting aura.
|
It looks pretty good in the black and white....the other, I had been going toward the old film...that silvery/copper type of look...not sure which to put into the frame now!! I want that shot to be the centerpiece of the display and if they say just one entry(last show, the whole display was judged and my artist friend said my better work wasn't front and center), then I will use those chairs. The frame is a 16x20 black with an 11x14 glass and i'm putting the pic(7.5x9.5) in a white matboard. Should look quite dramatic.

How it will be entered:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...chairframe.jpg I'm keeping the other as an unframed sellable piece. Thanks, guys!!!! |
Forgot to show off this one. Same place as the chairs-a huge lodge in upstate NY, but the name escapes me at the moment. All in all, including some wedding pix(the reason we were there), I took almost 100-mostly of the place and the surrounds. It covers 10 square miles and has it's own private lake for swimming, boating and fishing. One night's stay is over $300!!!

Good luck in show if you haven't been judged yet. I do think PaddyJoe is on to something about playing with the color balance for a more "truer" rendition. I believe that photography shows should be grouped by film or digital. I shoot digital and find it too easy to 'enhance' shots with PS. I do like it, but more skill and patience is required for staight film. I'm off the soap box. I really like the mill house picture.

Today, I had an idea for a still life to include next weekend: While it looks pretty cut and dry, I actually black-and-whited the shoes and cloth, then gaussian-blurred the cloth. I also had to tone down the yellow of the bear.
