Old Friends

A grab shot from a neighborhood art and craft festival a few weeks back. Made me think of old pals pausing to catch up.....

Interestin color there, pj. My B&W never have that subtle warmth to them. Do you do your own B&W processing? Printing? See, my B&W (end of thread) look like...B&W! And kind of dull as well. But yours. Well, they have that warm...uhm...brown and white look. What the heck is that? It's so nice! By the way, this is exemplary DOF.

In all honesty juju, that warmish tone is me screwing up. This was a black and white print that I scanned in RGB, and then adjusted the levels, but never really de-saturated. Here's what it looks like after going back to the saturation slider:

I do think though, that the original tone is rather pleasing, but I probably would've extended it a bit more into the sepia range had I meant to.

And to answer your first questions, yes, I do probably 75% of my own film processing, and 100% of my own printing.

Good reaction to this Charlie, that's kinda how I felt when I first printed it. Not shot with the Holga though, good ol' 35mm B&W film. Probably Kodak Tri-x that day.
