Sun, Sand & Sets

A few images from the pro beach volleyball tournament this weekend in Ft. Lauderdale.

My LCD screen on my camera burned out about 5 shots into the weekend. If you have ever had to replace yours (I have a Canon Digital Rebel) let me know how much it cost you to repair the screen.

Those are great shots! Looking forward to getting into beach volleyball soon. Quite inspiring.

Great shots. Am envious of the location. I'll be there at the end of this month.

Some nice shots there man! Too bad about the Camera though. Thats why I bought a 3 year over the counter exchange warranty on mine. Just in case.

I also plan to some how damage it to make it look like it just "gave out" or something in a year or so so I can maybe get the newest D SLR that the retailer carries!

I guess you have had it longer than the 1 Year Mfg Warranty?

Cheers!

Those are excellent.

the colour is very vibrant for a beach. Most folks (especially me) tend to get them overexposed and washed out.

Did you use any filters and /or post production editing in PS?

The second shot - which lens is that?

I have the Mack 5 year extended warranty but it specifically excludes LCDs.

Thanks. Very little Photoshop work here. I used a polarizing filter and a 24mm wide angle lens for most of the shots.

I thought it might be a polarizer.
Sand sea and snow always need them.

Circular polarizer? I'd assume so due to the autofocus. Right?
And plain polarizer or is it a Blue/yellow?

Circular

It is a plain circular polarizer that I bought used for $20. I have been very happy with the results.

Good pictures, specially the wide angle ones. I got an idea now: try to fit a polarizer to my compact digicam. Pics in intense sunlight often come out hazy.

Thanks WillyPete! I always thought the Cookin filters were awkward back in the days when I had a manual SLR, but this is just perfect.
