Maui and Oahu
just got back from my honeymoon in Hawaii. was going through some of the pictures i took and actually found some i thought were decent. this is my first time posting any photos. i'd like to hear what some of you with experience think. i know they're nothing original. and i really don't know much of anything about photography.
anyways.... here's a shot taken from the "Garden of Eden" on Maui. it's on the Road to Hana. that's my wifes backside this was taken at the resort we stayed at on Maui. the Fairmont Kea Lani in the town of Wailea. from Kaanapali beach on Maui. another from Kaanapali waiting for our luau to start. this was at the Ko Olina resort we stayed at on Oahu. that's my wife in front of me. wish i hadn't got those other people in the shot, but oh well. another shot on the Road to Hana on Maui. i had another shot of this closer up, but i thought this one was better. that's a water fall if you can't tell, heh. this last one was taken at the Hyatt in Kaanapali where we had our luau. Enjoyable photos to view. Sure wish you didn't mention the word "luau", tho. It's been too long since I've attended one and you have my mind working overtime, now.
I especially enjoyed your Garden of Eden photo. Was well laid out and the composition is pretty much perfect.

aaahhhh...Kaanapali...late afternoon...trade winds coming in for the day... Nice shot! I like how the clouds zig zag across the photo and the waves pick it up from there. I would either shoot around that chair next time or make it more of a focal point.
Thanks for posting! |

good point with the chair thing. wish i could have moved it out of the picture, but i was standing in line waiting to get into the luau, heh. but i wanted to get the palm tree in, and enough of the ocean/wave. if i moved a little too the left, i'm not to sure it would have looked right. but yeah, you're right..... i'll watch that next time.
thanks for the comments |
