i thought it was cool.

the_marq 11-29-2004 10:23 AM

Very Escher.

I like it. Gonna do the same thing when we decorate our tree later this week.

abel 11-29-2004 10:24 AM

ESCHER <-- exactly my inspiration!

i may try a few more but be more focused on me rather than the entire room

indigochild111 11-29-2004 10:33 AM

That was a really cool effect! It's interesting because everything has a golden glow

i thought it was cool.

I love the fact that the photo is very monochromatic in colorscheme with the exception of parts of the background.

Very lovely ...cool perspective as well :p

bernadette 11-29-2004 11:30 AM

you've got your world in your hand!

that'd make a hot christmas card. :)

apeman 11-29-2004 11:52 AM

nice ... and reminds me of the classic ray-traced scene with a sphere that reflects the whole world.

abel 12-01-2004 04:54 AM

thanks guys....

may have to retry that one in order to make a christmas card... hmmm. i think that would be very cool...

joeb1 12-01-2004 05:15 AM

abel 12-03-2004 04:58 AM

thanks again...

now that u mention the gold orb... it kinda reminds me of the movie The Sphere

they had a huge golden orb in that movie... :)

You should hang the ornament where you were holding it, sit down with your girlfriend and have someone else take another pic from behind the tree where they wouldn't be seen.

Just a thought.

uncle_el 12-06-2004 02:54 PM

very cool photo indeed.
simple concept = great photo!

I actually like the fact that a hand is seen holding the ornament with the reflection of surroundings. It\'s like someone said before, your world in your hand.

Very cool picture.

abel 12-07-2004 08:37 AM

thanks for the compliments...

You're right. It is cool.

You know what you could do? Try to balance it on top of a small cylinder; a pencil or something maybe?

then you could take the picture so only the orb is showing.

I like it. I like it a lot.

I think its a very cool idea...good job!

Shpoop 12-09-2004 07:18 PM

very awesome photo. if somehow you could get it to look almost exactly the same as it does now but without your camera, so its just a fisheye reflection of you, that would be stunning. stunning as in i would pay to have it on my wall (well, if it was me at least)

dont know how youll do that tho

abel 12-13-2004 12:47 PM

we're gonna try to do a few versions of it tonight for Christmas cards...

ill post the final version here... im gonna try to get it without the camera in the frame... gonna be fun!

abel 12-14-2004 06:06 AM

heres what im looking at now...

http://www.lifeatf8.com/temp/mcard.jpg

inharmony 12-14-2004 06:09 AM
