Beautiful shots...love the last one.
Wow, thats a really nice pic of the humingbird and the bee. Really close, a little too close for comfort with the bee though. Im not really much with photography, were you far away from the butterfly and took the pic zoomed in or were you really close, and were just lucky that the butterfly didnt fly away?

i hope to get some good shots in the spring. |
I, myself, really enjoy the last shot. Such a nice, pastoral scene. Ahhh.
Nice shots, makes me want to go back to summer, not fall.
Incredible shots. Makes me want to pick up my camera and sneak out of work. And still capture nothing but crap. :) But that's my problem.
great pictures! the bird is just beautiful.
Wow...A+ on the humming bird...DOF and sharpness are great...They are not the easiest subjects to shoot.
that hummingbird pic rules the skool!
What kind of camera are you using? I love macro photography, great pics.
Great pics! I like the last one too. Very beautiful country shot. Is that ice on the rose?
Thanks for the compliments. FngKestrel, my camera is an Olympus C-50 Zoom. Falls short in a few key areas for serious photography, but it works for my uses. Dano, that is ice on the rose. Was taken after an early freeze 2 years ago. Have a few other pics with flowers frozen like that somewhere. Dunno where.
The hummingbird was actually fairly easy to get. During late summer around my families cabin the young leave the nest. So lots of birds, they are young and tame. They will actually perch on ones finger. Think somewhere I have a pic of one sittin on my finger (though the pic came out kinda bad). So its just a matter of taking enough shots. Most of these pics I have on my webshots albums. I didn't feel like resizing em down and just saved the smaller versions from webshots. But webshots knocks the resolution down a bit, and the pictures lose some clarity. It seems to be really noticeable on some of the shots. |
Great detail. Love it. Where was the cabin shot? Reminds me of home.
Didn't post a cabin pic yet. Got a few on a CD somewhere. Maybe my next post will have one. :)
