Under the Tuscan Sun..... (not modem friendly)
We went to Italy last summer and I wanted to share these pics with the TFP gang. They are in basically chronological order. We flew to Rome spent three days sightseeing and then drove to a villa in the Tuscan countryside. We stayed there with 14 other people (all friends of my sister). We day tripped to Florence, Pisa, Montelcino, and Siena. I've been to all 50 US states and 8 foreign countries and this was the best vacation ever. Enjoy.
Our hotel in Rome... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...8/P7290056.jpg The oldest continuously occupied building in the world. Almost 2,000 years. The Panteon.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4.../P7310092b.jpg The Vatican. Note the proportion and scale. It looks like a two story building, but look at the size of the people at the foot of the columns. The top of the dome is 33 stories. Amazing..... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...8/P7300078.jpg The Pieta, inside the Vatican. Carved by Leonardo Da Vinci...... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...8/P7300073.jpg My beautiful bride and I at a sidewalk cafe about two blocks from the Vatican.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...8/P7300076.jpg The famous Trevi fountain..... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...8/P7310093.jpg Now to Tuscany. This is the villa where we stayed.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...8/P8060124.jpg Another view.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...8/P8060126.jpg And another... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...8/P8080019.jpg The view of the Tuscan countryside from the back deck (we ate dinner here most nights).... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...8/P8060123.jpg Florentine church.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...8/P8050116.jpg My wife and daughters on a bridge over the river Arno with the Ponte Vecchio (the bridge of gold) in the background... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4.../P8050119b.jpg The view from the top of the tower of Pisa looking north toward the Italian Alps..... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...8/P8040103.jpg The town of Pisa from the top of the tower... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...8/P8040106.jpg What would a trip to Pisa be without one of these pictures.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4.../P8040111c.jpg The Montelcino region of olive trees and vineyards.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...8/P8020095.jpg Siena streetscape.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...8/P8070012.jpg Ice cream and wine in the central square of Siena... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...8/P8070014.jpg More from Siena.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4.../P8070001b.jpg And finally, the resident cat at the villa..... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...8/P8070127.jpg |
Those pics look great DDDave, but you might want to take out the ones your daughters are in, or crop them out. They look just a little young to be 18.

Beautiful pictures! But yeah, blur out the kids faces, wouldn't want to crop them too much, you'd lose the value of the pictures...
Love that one of them with the leaning tower of Pisa though! |
thanks..............
