Hawai'i from the air
All aerials are over different parts of Oahu, trying to go in the order that we went around the island.
On the plane to Hawaii: The helicopter: South Shore, heading east from the airport:

Those are some awsome pictures. I have been to Oahu quite a few times for work so to was nice to see some familiar places. They made me wish that I were there right now!! Were those taken on a helicopter tour of the island?
Pretty sweet, thanks for posting them

Fred,
Yes, they were taking by helicopter. It was really cool to fly over some of the places I'd been by road, and be able to pick them out while flying over. Glad you enjoyed them!

Glad I spurred your decision! It's amazing - there's quite a few more pictures, but these give a general idea. The water was even bluer from the sky than they turned out in some of the pictures.

Fantastic pics.....
This is the one I was telling you about where the Pali tunnel exits the Koolau mountains.. We went horseback riding in the woods in the middle of this pic... In the foothills of these fingers of the Koolau mountains is the Koolau Golf Course. It is rated 'the hardest in the Nation' (for you golfers it has a slope rating of 163, USOpen courses are 150-155, you local course is 70-73).... Somehow you never get tired of looking at Diamond Head...

What a nice bunch of shots. Thanks for the post. I have been to Hawai'i many times and recognize a lot of the photos here. Hawai'i is easily my most favorite place on earth. There's just something about it that is indescribable. The greenery, the calm lifestyle, the people steeped in tradition. I would move there, but most of the locals dislike the Kama'aina (tourist) or people who move there from the mainland. *sigh* Guess I'll just have to visit often.
