Those pics look great! Man I'd love to make some turns on that snow. I'm getting the itch big time for some skiing and those pictures aren't helping.

Thanks! With all the colors it is amazing how everything will be covered in snow in a matter of weeks.

I love the depth in the last photo. It really shows just how majestic and expansive the landscape is there. It seems to go on forever.

Hmm, the 1st one looks even a little bit over-saturated... tried Fuji Velvia?

2nd one has the perfect exposure, although I'm a little bit distracted by the trees on the right side... how long was the exposure? I really can't tell if they were moving or did you run out of dof

Otherwise these are some high-contrast pictures here. Looking at the shadows reveals little or no detail so some post-processing might help you to squeeze some life into those.

Anyways, pretty pictures. Can't really tell were the last ones better than these or not. I think they were not, they were more 'postcardish'. These seem to have more soul.

Just incredible! I really need to get up there to see that in person, but until I do...this will suffice!

No, I have not tried Fuji Velvia yet. I need to do that.

Because I used my film camera I did not save the setting information but I do
believe that the wind was sufficient to cause the blur.

I agree the first one is probably oversaturated. I am colorblind and when I
use the contrast and color enhancers I tend to over adjust on certain colors.

Wow beautiful photos.
Although now that I look at them the colors could be a bit better, but the vistas are amazing.
Great job. :)

Ah but this is what you have to do. Can you carry a small notebook so you can scribble little notes about the exposure? It's a very very good thing to do because you want to be able to study your pictures afterwards :)

Got a nice wide lens already?

Norske8 10-09-2004 04:40 AM

Not yet

Not yet, the 70-200 mm L lens I just purchased is still giving me some guilt.

shred_head 10-12-2004 02:54 PM

Those remind me of puzzle pictures, I can just picture one of them having "1000 Pieces" written on it.
