battle of bird and window
so here's the window that a poor little bird hit.......
he knocked the wind outta himself really good....... we took him in the house and gave him some seeds and let him relax a bit.... after an hour or so......we put him back outside.........he flew into our tree and we figured he was good to go......... poor little bugger....... he was nice enough to let me get some macros of him........i sure hope he's okay. |

nice pictures, it is always good to help an animal when it needs it like that.. we found a hummingbird in our garage one time, but by the time we found him and got him outside he had exhausted himself too much for us to do anything

Ah ha! Now paddyjoe's new avatar makes sense! I feel kinda sorry when the birds hit windows n such, but it's so cool to be able to interact with them for just a little while when they're not maniacally flying around.

Always happy to see other bird/wildlife lovers out there! We're stockpiling seed/suet for the comming winter. The pictures of your temporary little avian friend are just awesome! If you don't mind me asking, what type of camera do you have? Dear Hubby and I just recently bought our first digital (Sony Cybershot 4.0) and the pics turn out great, but the macro sucks as well as the contrast on a lot of them (granted we're new with it and haven't learned all the in's and out's yet). Just curious.

at the place i used to work, i had a window right along side my desk. the windows were a mirror finish on the outside and we had large blackbirds nail these things on a weekly basis...
nothing like sitting quietly working away when... POOOWWWW!!! a 2 lb bird hits the window at high speed 2ft away from you... used to scare the crap out of me.. |
