here are a couple of low light concert shots i took at a Ozomatli show on August 14th.

Canon 10D with a 50mm f1.4 lens

i got a photographers pass for the concert and was allowed to shoot for the first song only...

Whoa, nice shots! You must have been pretty close to the band to pull that off with a 50mm (unless these are crops)!

the top pic was tough because i metered off of his skin tone which kinda blew out the highlights in his white shirt. ugh.

anyways.. they were done with my little 50 lens and i was at the base of the stage about 6-10ft from them most of the time. i often found my self having to take a couple of steps backwards so that i could get them in the frame...

i need to see who else is coming to town soon so that i can try to get another pass and get more experience. i would love to shoot concerts as a side gig...

Man the detail on those are great.
