That's really cool! What's the location?
OK, so now for the million dollar question. How did you get the camera to go off? What kind of camera was it?

Wrightsville! Nice... I was just there last weekend myself. Gorgeous weather right now and lots of great places to eat...
Nice shots! Edited to ask: What side is that on? I stay near the Oceanic, and wherever you are at looks less crowded... c_b |

Whoa! Freaking crap that is cool!
Must have been a lot of wind to hold that thing in the air.
That is awesome runningwild! How did you know what you were taking a picture of? Did you just guess by eye or did you have some sort of preview?

I was thinking as teflonian was ... I'm guessing a luck of the draw on nice pictures |

very interesting pics. did you make that rig or buy it?
That is a really cool idea. Have you tried it in more exotic locations?
To answer some of your questions. There is so much luck when taking the picture. You have a general idea of what you are taking but not exactly.
Crash landing pics, not yet. And I hope never. I have other locations. I will post them soon The rig is homemade. I am not sure of anywhere that sells them |
good pics!
That is way cool. I like the contraption for the camera. Good Job
wow. yeah, your second pic has that "just right lighting" look. very nice. I've always wanted to paraglide, so seeing these just makes me want to try it even more.
thanks for the post! |

Pretty fucking cool!
Very highly motivated I see. Really a cool rig. Thanks for sharing. |
nice little device. you should print some postcards and sell them to local store keepers
Amazing work. The mechanism to take the photos is pure genius.
wow! thats the coolest thing i have seen today!
Thats way cool, I gotta try something like that at the beach this year. How much cake you got tied up in the rig, not counting the cam.?

Great idea! If anyone has any interest in this, I would suggest going to ebay and looking for a cheap second hand airplane remote that comes with servos. Those airplane remotes are used for everything now hehe.
If you tinker with it for a while you'll see the servos are programmable (if you got a good remote), and you can set how much they go down and what stick or button controls them. Then all you need to do is mount any camera to a rig like he made, and put the servos in a way that the servo arms (if you dont know what those are you would see when you got some) hit the buttons when you press the coresponding button on the remote. It really shouldnt be that hard. I just cant imagine getting that heavy thing in the sky. |
Sweet shots there mate :D
that certainly is a different point of view. i look forward to seeing more!
