Hiking Trails
I enjoy hiking, when I go on vacation. I prefer to go up into the mountains, since I live at 7 feet above sea level.
I'm sure some of you people have great photos of places you have hiked, right? Let me see 'em, please. Am thinking about Banff next Summer. Thanks. Here's a photo looking down from Hurricane Hill in the Olympic Mountains. http://www.tropicdiver.com/hill4.jpg |
That's cool. Nice picture.
Here is a picture from this summer in Scotland: http://www.zen8722.zen.co.uk/ROB/ima...highlands9.jpg |
Scotland looks like a great place to go hiking. Are all those stones mostly of glacial deposits?
Here is a photo of a foot bridge by Sol Duc Falls. It is about a 20 minute hike from the end of the road. I started out before sunrise, as I was wondering what the place would look like once the rays of the sun starting coming over the mountain peaks and into the rain forest. Man, I wasn't disappointed. The rays of light cut thru the mist of the waterfalls and gave me an incredible visual surprise. http://www.tropicdiver.com/solduclights.jpg |
Here's another neat trail in a rain forest very close to Sol Duc Hot Springs. The short hike was along a cliff that ran along a stream and the trees reminded me of something you would see in a fairy tale.

The following is a rather groomed trail and about 1/2 of it is actually ADA accessible, but the last half is a rather steep climb to get to the Marymere Water Falls. A really gorgeous place that the park rangers have done an excellent job of maintaining.

Here's a better view of the trail from Hurricane Hill towards Hurricane Ridge. I go here once a year and love the hike. The Olympics are breath taking.
