I live on the West coast of Florida so the best i could normally do is all sunsets, BUT next week I am on vacation and will be spending three glorious nights in Daytona Beach at a fabulous resort FREE. My boss decided to pay and I decided to enjoy his generousity. I will post the good shots when i get back

The Everglades are on fire, again, and the smoke was drifting to the west, last nite, so I thought it might make for an interesting sunset photo. It really didn't (man, was I too late for an awesome sunrise this morning, tho). Soot was falling out of the sky last nite.

Great photos. A person e-mailed me, once, and asked if the reason why I had such colorful sunsets and sunrises was because of pollution. ;-)
I'm thrilled to see you have the same 'pollution' that we have down here in southwest Florida. Great photos!

There are some amazing pictures in this thread, by the way. I really should start browsing this section more often.
This is the only sunrise picture I think I've ever taken, mainly because I'm not usually up or forget about it when I am. And its not technically sunrise, its actually an hour or so after it (we were all waiting on it) but this was the first it peeked over the clouds. Its very amatuerish, being that it was shot just on an impulse and with a cheap $10-drug store-type camera, not knowing jack about photography, and I could've scanned it in a little better as well. But I don't really care that much if its considered a good shot or not, as the sentimental factors surrounding it are why I keep onto to. Long story.

Hurricane Ivan is supposed to hit here (who really knows) in a couple more days and Fort Myers Beach is like a ghost town (part of the reason is it is still pretty screwed up from dealing with Hurricanes Charley and Frances, also).
Anyway, no one was on the beach, tonite. I pretty much had the place to myself. Was rather amazing.
