Female Form
It's been a while since I've shared anything around here and a good long while since I've been able to look at these since a few are of an on-again-off-again ladyfriend. Sorry about the watermarks but I couldn't be bothered to resize and upload these again.
I started off shooting doms in their work gear and expanded it to include a few non-sex-worker friends. I won't add much more than that since dating the aforementioned train wreck and being in a pretty negative creative space forced the project in a direction I'm pretty far from satisfied with. I'm thinking about giving it another go and I'd appreciate your thoughts and comments and stuff. I may have previously posted a few of these. My apologies if you've seen them already.

Not that it was too hard to infer this based on your comments above, but the above shots; they are of your current (-/ex?) dominantrix girlfriend? Did she "command" you to shoot her in such-and-such way, this-bearing-degree light, that you might have found it suffocating, if not a wholly negative experience, to feel like you were not in charge of the photoshoot? (my imaginative assumptions can go a bit further than you realize, do you think?)
I'm kind of really off the B&W-as-aesthethically-necessary-for-serious-templates-kitsch, but that's just my current predilection. I'm not judging your pics based on my subjections, though. To comment: it was the first pair of photos in which I believe you alluding to when you stated "previously posted". Still... they are the ones in which have the most to say, in my opinion. When dealing with models and portraiture, much as the style implies, I much prefer seeing faces, above anything else. Now, perhaps you had a deal with the forms belonging to the female(s) above, and they did not wish for their face to be published. If that is indeed in the case, quite fine. Although, when you say "female forms", and go onto disaply most of them of outlinings (from the bum, hips & back, to the torso, body-hugging lingerie, leg-accentuating stockings, and chest region) I still find it striking to notice you withheld the facade, and what I think is even more visually-tantamount to femininity: the hair (on her head). Anyway, you are sharing what may be the tiniest fraction of this portfolio's stock, so of course it is good. However, my last comment: was there an inherent meaning to the slightly-easy-to-miss droplet peeking its ways on down your subject's chin? Is she hard at work, or merely enjoying her play? (Did you even notice this prior to your shooting her, or... even as late as my reply here?)

I always enjoy your composition.
The contrast of patterns and skin that blends into walls and backgrounds are pleasing to my eye. The texture of the neck skin in the last shot makes me feel odd, though. I'm not sure why other than it looks somewhat like someone shot a load on her face and it's dripping down her neck. Not to be crude, but that was my first thought. Even though I wanted to focus on the necklace and the contrast of textured skin and smooth metal.

I really love how the necklace is off kilter in the picture on the right in the second set.
The enhancing the stool tone did wonders to keep drawing my eye from the stool up the form and back again. But they feel very closed off. As if it is definitely a "look but do not touch". That feeling doesn't really cross over to any of the others.

The thread title might be a misnomer but it was intended as nothing more than a simple enough descriptive with no real relation to the actual project. A few of these are of the dominatrix quasi-ex but aside from the charge that the photos be flattering, I was given full creative control over the shoots and subsequent photos. I should probably add that the light and lack of identifying features in these (almost) portraits were decisions made in an attempt to mimic and induce in the viewers of these images, some of what their clients feel: that strain toward something more, a connection or the feeling that something is being kept from you, fantasy and going along with it, a willful suspension of belief, etc. Inasmuch as the photos don't (and really couldn't ever) get at what they depict, regardless of what's included or cropped out, the client is never afforded anything beyond short-lived fantasy. The photos are simply intended to play upon this. At some point I got carried away in all of this theory (read: pretense) and short-circuited my brain and all interest in the project. On the other hand, I just like making this stuff and I'm doing my best to navigate being a nerd and the sheer pleasure making this stuff gives me. Quote:
