Thanks, fnaqzna and dippin'. New Camera...

So I got a Canon G11 this weekend as a "just because" gift since the Canon S2 IS was dying a slow and painful death. Here are a few shots I like as I learn this lovely creature...

Faust is a cooperative subject... expecially when it is cold outside and the hoomans are snuggly. Dexter, however, is becoming more Maus-like daily.

They lose resolution in the upload, but it's fun to share anyway.

the G11 is a handy little creature...not too big and not too small, and th best thing it fits in your pocket.

im thinking about getting one myself

I want that camera now. My fuji 3800, held together with electrical tape and giving me unfocused shots every time is grinding on me.

It almost seemed like I should hear purring when I scrolled through your thread. And I want to use your ember shot for reference whenever I get around to doing Cauldron of Dragons . . .

Very good pics, and nice camera. The results are outstanding, especially the low light ones.

Thanks, y'all.
Faust is my SO's baby who has adopted me. Poor baby was so cold and
sooooo humoring me. He's a six month old brown spotted bengal with some
whiting around his face.
Dex is the silver bengal. He's a recessive gene kitteh. Discounted... half-price.

But, about the camera...
Best $460 ever spent.
It's teaching me manual by switching modes automatically and then showing me
the settings it used to get the photo. I LOVE this thing.
It was really windy and I was having fun with color replacement from earlier in the day
when I selected Faust's orange and switched it for blue, so with the fire, it picked up
the bluer tones and turned them orange in black and white.
It's amazing.

The review that fnaqzna gave me sold me completely.
We left the parking lot right prior to dinner to go buy a memory card, since we didn't realize it didn't come with one,
after taking a test shot of my SO in my passenger seat, in the dark...
"It makes me look cute! And skinny! Where can we get a card?!" as he pulled out his iPhone Definitely a great buy.

And, I can send the full sized images if you need 'em, kramus.
